You what what they say, “If I had a nickel…!”
For me that would be, if I had a nickel every time I met with a family who needed to “unlearn” what the care or placement options are because they were totally in the wrong ball field for their loved one specifically.
It’s similar to this experience I had at Fleet Feet Greenville NC today. I’m currently planning something exciting with them centered around senior safety and education of resources, but I couldn’t leave without the full experience.
Fleet Feet specializes in analyzing feet and walking patterns to see what the actual recommended shoes are for your specific needs. They ask about pain, comfort, running goals, old injuries — stuff I honestly never thought about when buying shoes before.
And on the drive home, I realized I am the same version of my clients with athletic shoes as they are with senior care decisions! 🤔
A lot of families are trying to make really important decisions based on Google searches, online reviews, what a friend said, or what looked nicest on a quick tour. But what works for one person may be completely wrong for another.
Every senior situation is different — personality, care needs, mobility, finances, memory issues, family dynamics, all of it matters.
That’s really the value of senior care consulting. It’s not just handing someone a list of places. It’s looking at the whole picture and helping families avoid decisions that aren’t actually the right fit for their loved one.
And yes, sometimes it means trusting someone’s expertise and making an investment in getting the right guidance. But the goal on the other side is better outcomes, less stress, and peace of mind knowing there’s actually a plan that fits your family’s needs.
