A related decrease in testosterone levels (aka andropause) causes more widespread issues. I see patients every day who finally came to see me after their family doc refused to treat (and often refuse to even test for) symptoms of low testosterone. HOWEVER, it’s rare that they don’t try to start them on an antidepressant.

Patient complains of “fatigue, depression, low libido, weight gain and erectile dysfunction”
Family doc “ok. Here’s a pill that will make all that worse”
