Transformations Counseling Services (TCS)
TCS is a team of therapists who are passionate about supporting our clients, and each other, in our anti-oppression, values-based, work.

What We Offer:
🏡We have an inviting, warm, and accessible space across the street from Garfield Park, the Garfield Library, and a 5 min walk to 2 different independent coffee shops.

🖥️We also provide a HIPAA compliant virtual platform so Therapists can create the balance of in person and remote work that fits their goals.

🚍 Accessibility - We work hard to make our in person services accessible. Our office is on the Red Line, we have dedicated ADA parking, and other ADA accessibility provisions inside the office.

📅 Individualized schedule - Therapists set their own schedule based on their needs and their ideal client’s availability.

🏳️‍🌈 LGBTQ Affirming Practice - 80+% of our clients identify as LGBTQ. Our therapists receive specialized training and support in serving this population.

👥 Group clinical staffing 2 times a month - TCS contracts with outside consultants to help facilitate these staffing in order to bring in diverse expertise. Individual consultation is available on request with Rebecca Waletich LCSW. Rebecca’s 25+ years of therapeutic experience, and experience as a teacher, help Rebecca create a rich consultation experience.

📊Therapists at TCS are employees, not independent contractors. This allows us to give more support to therapists (administratively as well as in supporting their professional growth). TCS Therapists can earn:
-up to 50% of the revenue from therapeutic services,
hourly pay for training and mandatory meetings,
-annual reimbursements for continuing education ($1,500),
reimbursement for professional and home office expenses,
-TCS funded Health Savings Account (for full time therapists),
-TCS funded Retirement Accounts (9% of gross pay).
After benefits are factored in, therapists can earn over 60% of the revenue for their therapeutic services.

🏡Hybrid workspace - We provide both a HIPAA compliant virtual platform and a furnished office space in the Garfield Park area with ADA accessibility. Therapists can create the balance that fits their needs.

🏳️‍🌈 LGBTQ Affirming Practice - 80+% of our clients identify as LGBTQ. Our therapists receive specialized training and support in serving this population.

Happy Trans Day of Visibility!

A fun fact, TDOV was founded by a Trans woman, therapist, and friend of mine (Kelsey) in 2009 Rachel Crandall-Crocker. Rachel set out to celebrate Trans lives even in the midst of societal hardship. Which feels particularly important this year.

At TCS we look forward to seeing folks at this month's Q***r Clinical Consultation on April 20th. Hopefully the energy of today will support us in holding celebratory space while building our clinical skills to continue working with Q***r and Trans clients. More information and registration below.

🚨 BREAKING: Indiana legislators are proposing to ban transgender kids from participating in school sports. The bill, HB 1041, sends trans youth the message that they're not worthy of the same opportunities as their classmates.

Trans students have the right to participate in sports consistent with who they are, just like anyone else. Denying them this right is unconstitutional and blatant discrimination.

Recently 2 well-known trans medical care providers agreed to interview with a known anti trans reporter. Some of the statements that these doctors said are disputed by evidence, yet these statements are being picked up in other articles, and are being repeated, quoted, and exaggerated in fear mongering ways.

As service providers, part of our role can be to help caregivers parse through what is misinformation, versus what are true things that are stated in misleading ways, so they can make choices that are right for their youth. To help us be ready to support caregivers in this way, Dr. Fortenberry, from the Riley Gender Clinic, has agreed to join us for a round table style discussion at the December QCC meeting on 12/15/21 from 3-4p.

This meeting is open to all gender affirming youth therapists, pediatricians, or other providers who want to understand the issues being discussed in order to help support caregivers in thinking through children's healthcare options.

Dr. Fortenberry, from the Riley Gender Clinic, has agreed to join us for a round table style discussion at the December QCC meeting.
