What does success look like?!!
Some might assume the journey through any yoga training program could be depicted by cool yoga poses, on a sunrise beach scene, while wearing a cute yoga outfit. However, Yoga Therapy is not just any yoga training program...
For me it was... countless courses and classes, multiple large research papers, sleepless nights, book reports (who’s idea was this?), case studies, slideshows, presentations, a total of 50+ private clients while under observation, over 500 hrs 1:1 with yoga therapy clients, several group yoga therapy classes with an additional 30+ group clients, totaling over 60 hrs of group therapy class time. And countless hours of research and development.
This all took place while pushing through the bumps in the road, unexpected delays, frustrations, difficulties, the Lila (life drama), and extenuating circumstances. Oh wait, we forgot, just one more big research paper, ...more sleepless nights!!
..and through it all, we just keep going… Forward, one small step at a time, until we reach that finish line.
This education journey has been 11.5 years, 3 Yoga Therapy schools, and an eclectic array of trainings, totaling just about 2,000 hrs of both yoga and yoga therapy certifications.
I am calling this my $100,000 graduation hoodie because that’s what it represents. The equivalent of a PhD in Yoga Therapy.
On January 26th, 2023 I handed in my last paper!!! I should be receiving my certificate any day.
Am I done?!
With this degree, yes!
I am proud of myself for accomplishing this in the midst of life situations that nearly prevented it from happening.
I AM DONE, YAY!!!!!!!!
However, there is always more to learn and I will always be a student of something!
I would say, stay tuned for what’s next,... but I have already jumped into advancing my Ayurvedic education.
I am also working toward getting two of my research papers published.
In addition to this, I am following the advice of my family and friends, I am writing my book... From sickness to health, overcoming the odds, a near-death experience altered my life path in some profound and beautiful ways (not the actual title).
My life was handed back to me as a gift, and I don’t take that lightly. My degree is complete, and now the work really begins!
