Good Morning! One last call!

I wanted to reach out once more before this group is set to start next week. I still have space for 1-2 participants in my Chosen to be Childfree Women's Group I am offering this fall. Feel free to inform any individuals that might be interested.

A reminder that for now, I am offering this within my counseling practice, so participants need to be physically located in the state of Oregon.

I am re-launching this childfree women's group in my practice this fall. Attached you will find the flyer for this 5-week group and also some information on who this group is a good fit for. This group is intended to be a blend of support, process, and psychoeducation.

If you have any questions, please reach out. You may also feel free to pass the flyer and info along to individuals that may be interested in being part of such a group. We plan to begin October 23rd or when there are enough participants registered.

Who the group is for:

This group is for you if….

You have intentionally chosen to live a childfree life.
You do not have children and are not currently parenting any children.
You want to feel confident in your decision to live a childfree life.
You enjoy being a part of a community of like-minded individuals and are seeking relational and social support.
You are open to being vulnerable and sharing aspects of yourself with others in a group setting.
You are seeking skills for interacting with others in your everyday life and navigating those sometimes pesky conversations around the topics of becoming a parent and having children.
You love to learn about yourself, have deep, engaging conversations with others, and are looking to grow.

This group is not for you if…

You have children or are currently parenting children.
You want children, but are unable to have them.
You desire to be a parent someday.
You are actively experiencing acute trauma or PTSD symptoms due to traumas from your own childhood that have not yet been processed.
You do not enjoy being a part of a social group where things like openness, vulnerability, and sharing may be present and encouraged.
You hate children and despise all things related to children (this is not a child-hater group).
You are still trying to decide whether you want children or not.
You are looking for guidance in your relationship where your significant other wants children and you do not.

Sometimes I find myself pausing and acknowledging that in this very moment I am alive. Breath in my lungs. Beating heart in my chest.

I say to myself, "I am alive, I am alive. I am going to live like I am alive."

It can be very grounding for me.

I began these reflections a few years ago after the unexpected loss of a fellow human I knew. I have since experienced the loss of many dear humans in my life the past few years.

Grief is complex and difficult. As much as it can knock us right over, I try to remember that I am alive in this very moment and that I can still live my life while I am here to do so. 💜

A couple weeks ago I had the privilege of joining a group of other humans for a Forest Therapy/Forest Bathing excursion at Wildwood Recreation Site on Mt. Hood hosted by Born to Thrive Counseling.

It was so refreshing to take time to breathe deep, engage my five senses, slow down, and witness and share in the beauty of nature. I am excited to go again!

Saw this cute little creature on a walk the other day! I have been pushing myself to get outside more this year, even if it is just for 10-15 minutes a handful of times per week. It has been helping me clear my head, breathe fresh air, and get some physical movement in.

A couple weeks ago I had the opportunity to go snowshoeing. There's something about nature, especially covered in snow, that really places me in a calm mental state. It is quiet, the sensory input feels peaceful, and the disconnect from distraction is nourishing. It is so easy to get caught up in all the things that fight for our time. Moments outside of that often feel so welcomed.

Hi all!

I know I have been a little quiet on here the past month. I took a little time off at the end of the year and the start of 2023. I have since been focusing on the day-to-day work and setting a vision for myself and my practice for this upcoming year.

In 2023, I am hoping to further my training in a few areas, continue working with my individual clients, and work on putting together a future counseling group within the next few months.
