Our program provides solutions and starts the healing process by uncovering the underlying causes of addiction and alcoholism so that you can go on to lead a happy, healthy life in recovery. Our services not only help the person struggling with addiction, but their family as well. In addition to our addiction recovery services, we address issues of life skills, employment and help to prepare those we treat for the challenges of early recovery and life after treatment. Our caring staff has a combined experience of over 20 years in the field and is committed to offering the best possible treatment for you or your loved one. We look forward to taking this journey with you.

We were honored to be part of such an incredible event today! đź’›

Our team had the opportunity to represent Ohio Addiction Recovery Center and The Trails, coming together with so many amazing organizations for the Fish Fry & Teddy Bear Drive benefiting children at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

It was a day full of connection, community, and purpose—supporting a cause that brings comfort and smiles to kids who need it most. 🧸 From the generosity of donations to the energy of everyone involved, it was truly inspiring to be surrounded by people committed to making a difference.

Grateful to have been included and proud to stand alongside such a compassionate community. đź’«

❤️ Counseling Awareness Month Spotlight: Rob & Maurice

As we wrap up Counseling Awareness Month, we’re proud to highlight Rob and Maurice—two counselors who bring heart, resilience, and authenticity into their work every day.

Rob was drawn to the field after witnessing both the struggles of addiction and the power of recovery in his own life and among those around him. Encouraged by someone already working in recovery, he pursued his CDCA after recognizing his ability to connect with others. Rob thrives on the challenge this work brings, embracing the fact that no two days are the same. He is passionate about showing clients that while recovery is not easy, it is absolutely possible—and worth it. For self-care, Rob turns to building LEGO sets, a hobby that helps him unwind and quiet his mind after a long day. A quote he lives by reflects perseverance and resilience: “It’s not about how hard you hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward.”

Maurice brings both experience and heart to the field, with a strong background in mental health that naturally transitioned into substance use treatment. He has found deep purpose in helping others create meaningful change in their lives. Maurice finds the greatest reward in witnessing people truly recover and ensuring they receive the credit they deserve for their hard work. His self-care reminder is simple but important: take intentional time for yourself outside of work, even if it’s just for an hour. He lives by a powerful message of belief: “If I can believe, all things are possible to him that believes.”

We’re grateful for Rob and Maurice and the dedication, encouragement, and perspective they bring to our team and the individuals we serve each day.

❤️ Counseling Awareness Month Spotlight: Larissa & Jim

As we continue to celebrate Counseling Awareness Month, we’re proud to recognize Larissa and Jim—two counselors whose passion, authenticity, and dedication make a lasting impact on the individuals they serve.

Larissa shares that this field truly found her. While working as a Court Liaison for Mental Health and Drug Court, she witnessed firsthand the determination it takes for individuals to change their lives. Seeing people build confidence and learn to cope without substances inspired her to step fully into the recovery field. What she values most is the connection with clients—getting to know them, seeing their growth, and understanding the love and hope that surrounds them. Larissa emphasizes the importance of self-talk as a form of self-care, making it a daily practice to speak kindly to herself and recognize her own strengths. A quote she lives by, shared by her father, reflects her approach to others: “People should walk away from you, feeling better about themselves than when they walked up to you.”

Jim was drawn to this field because of his own recovery journey and the people who supported him along the way. He now finds purpose in giving back and walking alongside others as they work toward change. Jim’s favorite part of the job is witnessing client progress—especially those moments when someone begins to believe in themselves again. For self-care, he emphasizes the importance of always prioritizing recovery, recognizing that without it, everything else can fall apart. He lives by the powerful reminder found in Philippians 4:13, carrying that message of strength and perseverance into both his life and his work.

We’re grateful for Larissa and Jim and the compassion, encouragement, and lived experience they bring to our team and our clients every day.

🌿 Happy Earth Day! 🌎

Today is a reminder that growth takes time—and so does healing. Just like nature, recovery is a process of renewal, patience, and care.

Take a moment today to step outside, breathe deeply, and appreciate how far you’ve come. Small, consistent changes—both in nature and in recovery—lead to something beautiful. 🌱

❤️ Counseling Awareness Month Spotlight: Amber, Bethany H & Chad

As we continue to recognize Counseling Awareness Month, we’re proud to highlight Amber, Bethany H, and Chad—three counselors who bring authenticity, passion, and lived experience into the work they do each day.

Amber found her path in recovery after getting sober and discovering a deep passion for helping others who have walked a similar road. She strives to be the person she once needed, offering support and understanding to those navigating their own journey. Amber’s favorite part of the work is witnessing transformation—watching clients grow into the best versions of themselves as they move through the fog of addiction and begin to let go of shame. For self-care, she values connection, spending time with her “tribe,” and enjoying quiet moments at home with her cat. A quote she lives by reminds us to keep moving forward: “You can’t start the next chapter of your life if you keep re-reading your last.”

Bethany H came into the field through her internship experience and quickly discovered a passion for working with clients in recovery. She values being part of a team that supports individuals who are motivated and willing to put in the work to change their lives. Bethany H finds fulfillment in collaborating with staff and contributing to an environment of encouragement and education. Her self-care practice is something she calls “Scheduling Joy”—intentionally setting aside time each week to do things that bring her happiness and balance. She carries with her a meaningful reminder from her grandfather: “Life is better when you have friends to share it with.”

Chad describes his journey into the field as something that found him. Encouraged years ago to pursue his license, he stepped into this work knowing his story could make a difference. He enjoys the unpredictability of each day, embracing the challenges and variety that come with working in recovery. For Chad, self-care is all about music and the gym—a combination that helps him decompress and stay grounded. His straightforward outlook is reflected in the quote he lives by: “You can’t save your face and your ass at the same time.”

We are grateful for Amber, Bethany H, and Chad and the unique energy, honesty, and dedication they bring to our team and the individuals we serve.

Today we recognize Semicolon Day — a symbol of hope, strength, and the choice to keep going.

A semicolon represents a pause in a sentence, not the end… just like in life. It’s a reminder that your story isn’t over, even when things feel heavy.

In recovery and in mental health journeys, there are moments where it would be easy to stop—but choosing to continue is where the strength lies.

❤️ At Ohio Addiction Recovery Center, we see that strength every single day. We witness individuals choosing to keep going, even when it’s hard—and we want you to know, we are always here for you. Whether you’re just starting your journey or continuing it, you don’t have to do it alone.

Today, we honor every person who has:
• Chosen to keep going
• Fought through difficult moments
• Continued writing their story

You are not alone. Your story matters. And there is still more to be written.
