Cold-pressed oils like jojoba and sweet almond act more like skin-mimicking hydrators than heavy greasers—jojoba closely resembles our natural sebum so it balances oily skin, while sweet almond soaks in to soften dry patches. Meanwhile, carrier oils such as fractionated coconut let fragrant essential oils shine without clogging pores, and heavier but nutrient-rich oils like avocado are best for targeted repair (knees, elbows, stretch marks). Tricky bit: molecular weight and fatty acid profile, not just name recognition, predict whether an oil is fast-absorbing or occlusive.
