Leafy dark greens, like collard greens, are powerhouses.

They are packed with natural nitrates that do wonders for your gut health!

When you eat these greens, your body turns the nitrates into nitric oxide, which boosts blood flow and helps relax blood vessels.

This can enhance digestion by improving circulation to the gut, making it easier to absorb all those good nutrients.

Plus, nitric oxide supports a healthy gut lining, which is key for preventing issues like leaky gut and keeping your digestive tract in tip-top shape.

By strengthening the gut barrier, nitrates also help reduce inflammation and create a friendly environment for good gut bacteria to thrive.

My favorite way to enjoy collard greens is the Greek way, Horta-style, sautéed in extra virgin olive oil with fresh lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Simple, delicious, and great for your gut! 💚
