I needed this tonight.💔

You are stronger than you realize. That doesn't take away from how hard things might be... but be confident in your strength... and remember... "the extraordinary strength with which the trees kiss their leaves farewell every fall" ❤

Very true.

This is something I have to work on.

One of the things I am very NOT good at, is letting people take care of me; I often refuse help even when I really need it. And yet I am always the first one to offer it to someone; I want to be there for them, I want to provide comfort and support when I see them struggle or ache in any way... why do I have such a hard time letting someone else do that for me???

I saw this quote and it made me think... perhaps if I was more open to allow others to help me, my struggle would be less.

So let's make a deal, you and me, if you need help... a hug, a phone call, a meal, or an ear to listen... please let someone know... and if they offer to be there for you... say YES!!! And I will do the same, I promise!!!

We don't have to go through the icky alone...
xoxo

Over the years as I have started to evolve in the care of patients at the end of life, I have found that what I am drawn to most is how their loved ones are cared for and what they take away from those last few moments before they say their final goodbye. As a hospice nurse, once a patient has died....

This resonated with me. I always feel like I need to go, go, go... "I've got so much to do" seems to be my mantra and taking a break is never on my agenda. Maybe it's that I feel guilty for taking time out for me... let me rephrase that... I used to feel guilty when I stopped and did nothing, or stopped to do something ... just for me. That has since changed. I need a time out, and I need it often.

It's okay to take a break. In fact... I think it is mandatory. Take a break for you.
Take a break for those who love you.
Take a break because it feels good.
Take a break because you need it.

It's okay to take a break ☺️

It all part of the journey...whatever it takes.

A Kentucky father said his last wish was to see his son's big football game which was hours away by car, so a resourceful nurse found an amazing way to help him.
