It is with so many emotions that we prepare to close the Dallas office come March ❤

This process of closing the Dallas office, has been very bittersweet. I am so sad to leave our clients, the Swiss Avenue Birth and Wellness Collaborative , and the incredible holistic wellness community in Dallas. But I am constantly reminded that it is not about me...it has always been about stewarding this business where the Lord leads and doing His work to serve moms.

And now, it is time for me to continue the work He has started through me and create a space on the Northeast to serve another community of Mommas!

When I started Mommas in Motion Dallas, I had no idea how much the Lord had planned! So many moms healed. So many moms empowered. So many moms educated. So many moms finding community through pelvic floor therapy.

God is so amazing!!

& before we close, I will be serving our clients one last time in-person at our Dallas office location in March. To book with me before closing in March, give our office phone a call/text or head to the link at the top of our page to schedule!

And as always, you can continue to work with me virtually through our virtual courses, programs, and virtual 1:1.

LOVE YOU DALLAS!
XO,
Jemila Medley

False! ❌The pelvic floor actually needs to be able to relax and lengthen during labor and delivery so the baby can come out. Although the pelvic floor has a critical role in the birthing process it does not aid in the “pushing”.

The statistics surrounding Pelvic Health tells us that 1 in 4 women over the age of 20 have some degree of pelvic floor dysfunction (whether or not they’ve had a baby) 🥺

This is heartbreaking - because many women don’t actually get the help they need until later on or once pregnancies occur.

Knowing this information here’s what you can do:
✨ TELL other women about pelvic floor dysfunction and the symptoms. Share your experiences, share your resources, and educate others!
✨ Seek out pelvic floor therapy help & resources!!!
✨ See a pelvic floor therapist as early on as possible.
✨Advocate for pelvic floor therapy, advocate for yourself, educate your providers.

if you’re one experiencing pelvic floor dysfunction and have yet to get help, schedule a free discovery call and we can help you start your journey. Linked at the top of our profile.

These stretches amongst manual therapy techniques can be extremely beneficial in helping to lengthen and relax the pelvic floor

While everyone pelvic floor needs may vary, we have found that many women experiencing pelvic floor tension find success in connecting to the pelvic floor & lengthening through these stretches

Not sure if these stretches are right for you or if you have pelvic floor tension? Schedule a pelvic floor assessment to find out! Link in bio.

Let’s talk about it...

When you hover over the toilet, there is likely lots of tension being held in the pelvic floor and other muscles connected to the pelvic floor...

Which then leads to not fully emptying the bladder, feeling like you’re going to p*e when you stand up even after you just p*ed, urinary leaking, pain with s*x...

All of, TENSION!

Your muscles need to relax and lengthen when you go to the bathroom. So sit down!

Put some toilet paper down or disposable travel toilet seat covers. I promise it will be worth it if you just stop hovering, you’d be amazed at how your pelvic floor function improves!!

Preparation is 🔑

So many moms are solely focused on pregnancy that they get to postpartum and start having a bunch of issues and end up scrambling around trying to find resources to help and heal...

BUT, if we start prepping during pregnancy to strengthen and create function in the core and pelvic floor and get properly connected with your body, then we can totally change the trajectory of your healing in many cases!!

We recommend our clients come as earlyyyyyy into pregnancy as possible! Head to the link in our bio to book.

HEALING IS ALWAYS POSSIBLE ✨

We wish more women knew, that there is still a chance to heal to some degree...to prevent surgery, prevent issues from worsening, and even before going into a surgery (should you choose).

The "common" pelvic floor issues you may hear about (p*eing when you sneeze, pain w/ s*x, etc) do not have to be the norm and can be improved.

Schedule your free discovery call to learn more and start working with us to help you!

Yep, that’s right! Many women have pelvic floor issues even before having babies and here’s why…

Poor habits, positions, exercising incorrectly, and much more, have contributed to pelvic floor issues like urinary leaking, pain with s*x, back pain, and prolapse.

While the pelvic floor is highly affected during pregnancy, its also affected by daily life habits and changes as your body goes through different phases of life and age.

For this reason, we always recommend women (moms or not) to seek out pelvic floor therapy help! And if you know you plan to have a baby in the future, we highly recommend starting pelvic floor therapy before you even conceive!
