There are four neurotransmitters that are responsible for creating feelings of happiness: dopamine, serotonin, oxytocin, and endorphins. By stimulating these neurochemicals we are able to boost our mood and feel happy, naturally!

🌷 Dopamine is activated by pleasure and rewards. You know, that satisfying feeling of checking something off your to-do list?

🌻 Endorphins are released when we exercise and get our hearts pumping, so working out can be fun!

🌹 Oxytocin is released when we experience close touch and affection. Which means more cuddles with those we love!

🌼 Serotonin can be sparked by regulated sleep and a balanced diet. Taking melatonin regularly can help balance serotonin levels.

Other useful activities to add to your routine are yoga, meditation, walking outdoors, reading, and taking a hot bath. All of these activities can be done easily to give yourself an all-natural dose of happiness!

Stress takes its toll on our bodies in numerous ways. Anxiety and tension can cause the body to release cortisol, which is a stress hormone that increases glucose in the bloodstream. Chronic stress causes imbalanced estrogen levels and impacts regularity.

High-intensity training is great, but if this is your only form of exercise, you may not be getting enough rest needed for the body to produce an egg, causing irregular menstrual cycles and fertility issues. Low-intensity training exercises like yoga and pilates are a great way to give the body a workout while also not pushing too hard. 🧘

Melatonin has proven to be beneficial to the body in many ways. It promotes the regulation of our circadian rhythms and ultimately ovulation cycles. “Plus a plate of carrots may be filling but not very satisfying and also won’t have long ‘staying power’ in terms of hunger due to the lack of fat etc. So if you’re craving veggies far better to pair them with ranch, hummus, butter, etc. (as this also helps with the absorption of fat-soluble nutrients like vitamins A, K, D& E.

Anyway, point being that social connections were found in an 100 year study by Harvard to be the biggest predictor of health and longevity.
