Today is World Prematurity Day! 🤱✨

Around 30 million babies are born prematurely each year! Having a baby is one of the most challenging and joyful times in parents' lives- and having a premature baby brings exponentially more challenges! I have personal experience on both sides- from the physician perspective working in the neonatal intensive care unit and as a mom with a premature baby. Those tiny premature babies are fighters and their parents are heroes, also! There have been leaps and bounds made in the field of medicine when it comes to care of premature babies but we have a long way to go- it is important to raise awareness for the needs and rights of premature babies and their families and to provide excellent compassionate medical care to our tiniest of patients. 👶🏼🤍

👻 Halloween Safety Tips for Kids! 🎃

Happy Halloween! We want all our little ghosts and goblins to have a fun and safe night! Here are a few quick tips for a safe, fun-filled night!

🕷️ Costume Safety:
Make sure costumes fit well to prevent trips and falls, and use reflective tape or glow sticks so kids are visible after dark.

🦇 Trick-or-Treat Smart:
Stay in well-lit areas, walk on sidewalks (not streets), and always cross at corners or crosswalks.

🍬 Candy Check:
Wait until you’re home to dig into the treats so parents can check for anything unsafe.

🎭 Stay Together:
Children should always go with an adult.
