❤️‍🩹Update regarding JD’s Road to Recovery ❤️‍🩹

After a 3-night stay in the Surgical ICU, due to 2 unplanned surgeries, JD was moved to a private room on the Colorectal Unit the evening of June 15th. Due to this setback, it will & has extended JD’s hospital stay. The more movement he can do will help wake his bowels up. He has been working very hard with PT/OT - even playing a version of co****le!
Yesterday was his 1st big walk and today the NG tube came out! Making huge strides! The Doctor’s compliment him on his positive attitude & his yearning to get better. Everyday is one more day closer to going home. 🙏Thank you for ALL of your continued love ❤️ & support. Thank you to our Family & Friends for all of your help over the past 2+ weeks, especially with the wonderful care you have shown Dexter!! It really means the world to JD & I. ❤️‍🩹❌⭕️💙💟💪🏼🙏

Good morning here's a little update 6/15 from Caroline on JD progress
Let's keep him in your prayers and speedy recovery.
Let's hope they can get the fever controlled and out of icu soon
Dexter is missing his daddy he's is so lost with out him poor little guy but he's having fun at camp today

Morning!
Hopefully today that breathing tube comes out so he’ll be able to talk but I’m sure he’s going to be hoarse and have a sore throat. That’s been in for over 2 days.
I woke up in the middle of the night they told me I can call anytime I called at 1:20 in the morning. They said his fever was still just teetering. He’s at 99.9. She said they gave him a bath probably to help cool him recently and his heart rate is slightly elevated 120. They’re giving him fluids blood pressure stable. He’s comfortable he’s on pain meds so it all sounds good. 💙💙💙 💙💙💙
Praying for an uneventful day today ! 🙏🙏🙏

Just a little update 6/13
Jd had surgery to repair a hole and clean up area due to Infection
He's out of surgery and the dr said all went well ..... keep the prayers comming for Jd and Caroline xoxo

JD and I appreciate the outpouring of love, prayers and support. JD is going to need additional time in the hospital to recover from his various procedures, so our focus is on doing everything we can to get him home as soon as possible.

The hospital days are long with various specialist checking in on JD and making adjustments to his care.

I want a personally send messages to everyone but I'm finding it hard to write so many messages each day.

We love and appreciate everyone's prayer's, thoughts, texts and messages. As we get more information, I will make sure our family keeps this page updated.

We couldn't have made it this far without the love and support of our family and friends both near and far.
