Bush-League Pinch Hitters We’re helping men to develop a lasting recovery rhythm, enabling them to reunite with God, themselves, family and others.

The mission of Bush-League Pinch Hitters is to provide a place that not only equips
men with the physical needs necessary to overcome their addiction but most importantly with the Word of God, fully comprehending the power and strength that comes from being in a relationship with Jesus. We want to see God glorified in everything we do. That is what sets Bush-League Pinch Hitters apart from other recovery homes. God is the focus & the gift is the power of the Holy Spirit that helps sustain everyone that comes through our home.

"First thought wrong," is a common discussion topic in recovery. It refers to our initial thought, the knee jerk reaction, we experience when situations arise. For example, if a car cuts us off driving down the road, our first thought tends to be to yell at the driver. How is that going to work out? They can't hear us. The operator may not have even known they cut you off. When we give ourselves a moment to process what just happened, we give the Holy Spirit an opportunity to give us a second thought without reacting to the first one. What are some of your "first thought wrong" moments?

If it's true that addiction equals isolation, then recovery equals connection. In addiction, we isolate ourselves from loved ones, friends, community, and even God. This tends to be a slow, yet progressive process. We push people away—get angry, mean, hateful, degrading. All the while, justifying our actions by playing the victim.
