Hello and thank you to all our new followers who came over from the comment on Neurodivergent Rebel's post about charities!

We are a very small company, doing what we can to support the community that we are a part of. While we cannot guarantee that our diagnosis (by an educational diagnostician) can help you access medical interventions, we can and will make sure that our diagnosis process will offer you clarity, that we will take into account factors such as masking, and that we will never require any payment.

If you do happen to want to give, either as a client or simply to support our work, you can find the link to request an appointment, and the link to donate, both in the pinned posts at the top of our page.

Super excited to announce we've been accepted for a grant from VELA Education Fund, to help us purchase more testing kits that can help us diagnose sensory processing issues, dyslexia, and learning disabilities with greater accuracy!

You might struggle with auditory processing if...

-Your catchphrase is "what?"
-You ask someone to repeat their question then finish processing and respond halfway through they're finished repeating it.
-You somewhat processed what someone said but your brain won't take it.
-You mishear what people say wildly wrong. Like, wildly wrong. Then you process it and it makes wayyyy more sense than whatever you thought someone originally said.
-"Wait, what?"
-Default face is a perplexed, confused look.

These are the terms currently preferred by the communities in question. That is, the autistic community itself prefers the term "autistic."

Raise your hand if you've been that neurodivergent kid, maybe without even knowing it, sitting there trying to figure out why you couldn't just do the thing. ๐Ÿ™‹โ€โ™€๏ธ

It can be challenging for us but itโ€™s probably even more challenging for them.

That challenging student is also a young person trying to find their way in a world that doesnโ€™t really make sense to them.

Take a breath. Switch your lens. Prioritise connection. Look beyond the behaviour & search for reason & meaning.

Theyโ€™re relying on us to do right by them.

For anyone who hasn't been tested because their family "doesn't want them to have a label," or who has resisted letting their child be tested for that reason, this is a great example of how we end up labelled anyway. If this sounds familiar, drop us a message to learn about affordable neurodivergence testing.

This is something many of us who are neurodivergent know all too well. I see you. โค

It's a very distinct, deep pain to open up and talk excitedly about something you care deeply about

and have the other person roll their eyes

or tell you that you talk too much or are annoying.

If that's ever happened to you, I'm so sorry. [red heart emoji]

You've heard of dyslexia, but you have you heard of its cousin, dysgraphia? Dyslexia and dysgraphia are both neurological conditions, but where dyslexia heavily impacts reading, dysgraphia heavily impacts writing. Symptoms can include poor spelling, poor handwriting, even issues like physical discomfort with holding a pen or pencil.

Michael Jordan, My Hero, Is Neurodivergent (Adhd) And as a child I looked up to him so much and I didn't even know he was ND. He still inspires me to this day, and on Friday I will have a Tattoo done to commemorate the impact he has had on my life.

His hyperfocus and drive that so many of us NDs have, is the reason he became the GOAT (Greatest of All Time) and so many other NDs have done the same in their respective fields.

Lionel Messi (Football), Tom Stoltman (Worlds strongest man), Michael Phelps (Olympic gold winning Swimmer), Terry Bradshaw (American.football), Pete Rose (Baseball), Justin Gatlin (Joint fastest man alive), Cammi Granato (Olympic gold medalist, womenโ€™s hockey) and Nicola Adams (The first female boxer to become an Olympic champion after winning gold at London 2012) are just a handful of talented Athletes who have become successful because of Hyperfocus and proving that being easily distracted is more about not being interested in a subject, and wanting to continue doing the subject they are fixated on.

We have disabilities, but we can also have super powers, we just need people to believe in us so we can believe in ourselves. Positivity is crucial, support and patience is vital, dedication to working hard is essential. It is how I became the Husband, Father, Photographer, Speaker, Advocate and Author I am today, We are Different, Not broken.

It's wild to me that it took so long for women to start getting proper autism diagnoses. They invented quilting. QUILTING. "Whatcha doing, mom?"

"Just making very exacting intricate designs out of geometry and tiny perfect fabric squares."

"Seems normal."
