Kevin went to "big school" on Thursday.
We were able to work at a safe distance so he can build confidence.

He always has a choice. If he wants to explore closer, he can. If he's worried and needs more space, we move back.

Respecting their emotions and allowing them agency builds trust.

Helping Kevin feel comfortable is my primary goal.
Everything else will fall into place in due time.

Who was Sergeant Stubby?

Sergeant Stubby was a remarkable and beloved military dog who served with distinction during World War I.
Born around 1916, Stubby was a stray who was found wandering the streets of Connecticut and eventually adopted by soldiers at Yale University.
He quickly proved to be brave, loyal, and intelligent.
Stubby became an official part of the 102nd Infantry Regiment and participated in numerous battles in France. He was known for alerting soldiers to incoming gas attacks and locating wounded comrades on the battlefield.
His acts of bravery earned him the rank of Sergeant, making him one of the most decorated dogs in American military history.
100 years later,we acknowledge Stubby’s enduring bravery and unwavering courage and commitment throughout the military.
Stubby was assumed to be a pit bull type dog. He has become a popular figure in pit bull advocacy groups.

It was a tremendous honor to have jeffrey chosen to receive the Sergeant Stubby Award for Canine Heroism.

We adore Yves!
He is a most extraordinary human.

He calls it “Pit Bull Carpool” 🚗🐾

Whenever Yves has free time, he picks up a shelter pit bull, rolls the windows down, plays some music and lets them just be dogs for a while. Before bringing them back, he films a short intro so people can see who they really are — not a number, not a label, but a goofy, loving dog who deserves a chance.

Sometimes all it takes is a car ride, a song and a little fresh air to help the right person fall in love ❤️
