šŸ™Friends, please take the survey!šŸ™

The Bitterroot Discovery Children’s Museum is uniquely positioned to activate the lower level of the Bedford Building with MINIMAL structural modifications, making it a practical and efficient use of the space. Beyond feasibility, this opportunity represents a meaningful investment in our community.

By establishing a permanent home within the Bedford Building, BDCM could serve as a dynamic anchor for family-centered resources…offering enriching educational experiences, hands-on learning, and inclusive play for children (and their caregivers) of all backgrounds, abilities, and interests. Just as importantly, the children’s museum would act as a collaborative hub, fostering partnerships with other family-serving nonprofits and creating a centralized space where resources, programming, and support systems intersect.

This shared-use approach would strengthen the fabric of our community by increasing access to early learning opportunities, support working families, and promote social connection. The presence of BDCM in the Bedford Building would not only enhance the use of the space, but also contribute to a healthier, more engaged, and more resilient Bitterroot Valley!

The City of Hamilton is exploring future re-use options for the current City Hall (Bedford Building). We are seeking public input.

Calling all builders, tinkerers, and creative problem-solvers!

The Bitterroot Discovery Children’s Museum is looking for a volunteer (or small team!) to help us bring a super fun, interactive exhibit piece to life for our upcoming "Safety Superheroes: Emergency Ready!" experience!

We’re hoping to build a giant, kid-friendly phone with light-up buttons where children can practice dialing 911 and even learn their caregiver’s phone number. The goal is to help kids feel confident and prepared in an emergency...and we need a little technical magic to make it happen!

If you have experience with:
Simple electronics or wiring
Arduino, Makey Makey, or similar tools
Building interactive displays
OR just love a good creative challenge..we would LOVE your help.

This is a short-term, high-impact project that will directly support children and families in our community (and honestly, it’s going to be really cool).
Please comment below or send me a message if you’re interested or know someone who might be!

Every child deserves a place to explore, create, and learn.
That’s why I serve on the board of the Bitterroot Discovery Children’s Museum—and why we’re working toward something bigger.
Right now, we bring hands-on learning to families through pop-ups. But imagine what we could do with a permanent home.

šŸ—“ļø Save The Date: April 30-May 1 šŸ—“ļø

It’s that time of year again! The Bitterroot Discovery Children’s Museum is participating in Bitterroot Gives- a 26 hour online celebration of the Missoula and Ravalli communities and the role nonprofits play in making our community great!

Our goal for Bitterroot Gives:
$5,000 toward a permanent home for the Bitterroot Discovery Children's Museum - a place where kids can learn, play, and grow every single day. šŸ

It takes a community to build something like this.
And this community always shows up.

We love seeing curious explorers learning and growing...together!
While children's museums are designed around the needs of children, it's important to remember that time spent with loving caregivers is the key to opening their hearts and minds.
