SCHOOL LUNCH HERE WE GO!
◇Pack like a pro◇

☆PROTEIN (1/4c, 2oz, or 8 fl oz)
hard boiled egg,
beans, soy, lentils
cheese, yogurt, milk
nitrate free delimeat
hummus/jerky
egg/chicken/tuna salad
nuts/seed butter

☆STARCH (3/4 c, 2 slices, or 2 oz)
crackers, cereal
rice/cread,popcorn, pasta, sweet potatoes, granola bar, chips, tortilla

☆FRUIT (1/2 c, or 1 med)
applesauce, dehydrated fruit, orange, banana, kiwi, melons, grapes, berries

☆VEGETABLE (1/2 c -1 c)
cucumber, tomatoes, bellpeppers, carrots, celery, salad greens

☆FAT 1 Tbsp - 1 oz
(keeps kids full and satisfied, important)
Whole milk dairy, eggs, seed/nut butter, fatty meats, avocadoes

-PUT IT ALL TOGETHER
Include an item from each category. Some foods will meet a combination of categories. Serve portions to fit need/hunger. Try to make it fun with your presentation.

The problem with PPIs, the meds that treat ulcers, acid reflux and gastritis, is they don't fix the root of the issue. Long term use can lead to calcium malabsorption, B12 deficiency, osteoporosis and others issues.

Easy, Instapot chicken 🌮 taco

3 boneless skinless chicken breast
1 pack taco seasoning (Siete)
1/3 to 1/2 cup chicken broth
1/4 cup salsa
Tortilla *whole wheat/low carb/GF

Place chicken in the instapot, pour broth over top, Sprinkle taco seasoning and salsa. Seal and cook on high 12 minutes. Remove chicken after venting and shred chicken. I removed most salsa chunks too. Put shredded chicken back in the pot with juice and stir it up. Serve over soft taco tortillas with favorite toppings like low fat cheese and sour cream.

Lemon Garlic Salmon Recipe

Whisk together juice of a lemon, 3 minced garlic cloves, 1 tsp oregano, 1 tsp paprika and 3 TBSP olive oil. Pour on top 2 salmon filets, cover in foil and bake on top oven rack about 15 to 20 minutes at 375 degrees or until flakey and cooked through.
Enjoy with a vegetable and salad for healthy and fast dinner.

Simply Steamed Veggies with Pot Stickers!
This throw together meal took less than 20 minutes to make and taste great.
Ingredients:
Pot stickers (4-5 each)
Beech Mushrooms
Carrot
Sugar snap peas
Green onion
Cilantro
Ginger root
Dumpling sauce or low sodium soy sauce
Instructions:
1. Cook Pot Stickers according to package. We steamed then in the microwave.
2. Add 1/2 snap peas and mushrooms to glass bowl. Then add a few slices of carrot on top and 1/4 c water. Cover tightly with Saran wrap and microwave 2-3 minutes. You can steam on stove too.
3. In a serving bowl, place cooked Pot stickers, Steamed vegetables (removed from water), and top with fresh green onions, grated ginger root, and Cilantro pieces.
Sprinkle with 2 -3 Tbsp sauce and enjoy!

Here's your reminder to add a simple salad to lunch to get a portion of veggies.

1 cup raw vegetable, or 1/2 cup cooked veg = 1 vegetable portion. It's recommended we eat 3 to 5 vegetable portions a day.
