I mark this morning with a small cairn at the water’s edge. Choice by choice. Breath by breath. Smooth stones for what remains. Sea glass for what time has softened.
I honor the beloved dead. I bless the living. I thank the night for its messages and I stack what stays. The rest returns to the tide. May the day be clear and grounded.

Samhain
The year tips into the dark half and the air hums with memory. I set a quiet altar, invite the beloved dead, and promise to carry the best of their stories forward. I honor the lessons. I release what no longer serves. I choose a softer kind of strength.

Ritual
Light a candle. Place a pinch of Samhain Ritual Salt at the threshold for protection and peace. Speak a name you honor. Speak one truth you are keeping. Close your eyes and listen. S***f the flame to seal.

Tell me one word you are releasing or drop a 🕯️ for the ancestors.

On the edge of Samhain I make room for the ones who came before. Ancestors are blood and spirit and place and craft. I ask for clear guidance and I choose the threads I will carry forward.

How I notice they are near
💭 Dreams that feel vivid and leave a calm afterglow
☕️ A familiar scent with no source like coffee to***co or rose
📖 A song or phrase they loved repeating through the day
🕯 A candle that flickers at a still window or a soft breeze at a closed door
🪶 Coins or feathers placed right where I pause
🦉 Animals that act like messengers crows, owls, cardinals, moths
💡 A single click in the quiet lights or radio when their name crosses my mind
🍽 An urge to cook a family dish
✨️ Goosebumps or a gentle warmth across my shoulders

I say thank you out loud. May love move both ways. May protection settle over this home.

Mini ritual one minute
At your table or altar set a candle and a small cup of tea or water. Speak one name and ask for a gentle unmistakable sign by tomorrow night. Add a boundary line with ritual salt "Only those who hold me in love may enter my space." Sit in quiet for three breaths and close with thank you.

Black cats know thresholds. Doorways. Crossroads. Windows at dusk. In this season I take their medicine as protection and perspective. If they cross my path I steady my breath and check my boundaries.

Tell me where you met your last black cat. Street. Porch. Dream.

Crows are threshold keepers in so many stories...companions of battle queens like the Morrígan, watchers at the liminal places where one thing becomes another. Shorelines. Crossroads. Doorways. I pay attention to patterns when they appear: repeated calls, sudden stillness, a feather on my path. Not superstition, but relationship. Protection. Pattern recognition. Clear signals.
Today I set boundaries like a crow draws a circle in the air. If the message is “look closer,” I look. If the medicine is “stand taller,” I stand. May my edges be well kept and my listening be sharp.

Autumn is change made visible. Leaves loosen their grip. Rain rinses the air. Waves smooth sharp edges into seaglass. Nature shows the rhythm: release, rest, renew. In many traditions this season lives in the West with Water, the realm of feeling, endings, and integration, while a single candle holds steady Fire so the heart has a lighthouse in the dark half.
Today I name what is ready to fall away and invite what is ready to root. My words: “I return what is spent. I welcome what is true.”

Simple window ritual
Fog the glass with your breath. Write one word you are releasing in the mist. Inhale for four, exhale for six, three times. Wipe the word away and tap the sill three times to seal. Speak one word you are calling in to the candle flame.

Grateful beyond words for yesterday at Historic Hilton Village Fall Fest. Thank you to everyone who stopped by, shared a smile, and took a little magick home. Deep thanks to for the beautiful space and warm welcome. The honey bees circled my table like tiny sun messengers, lifting the vibe all day. Thank you, Universe, for a bright, gentle day. All good things. I’m thankful and buzzing. 🐝✨

In Celtic tradition the Otherworld is a neighboring field of wonder, where ancestors and spirits dwell. At Samhain the veil thins and the doorway opens. I practice with reverence, clear intention, and good boundaries.

I honor Isis, whose devotion reassembled what was broken and called life back to the body. Her words echo through time. I am all that has been and is and shall be, and no mortal has ever lifted my mantle. I listen for the old magic that heals.

Hel keeps the quiet kingdom. Honor for the keeper of endings.
Hel is the calm center of the underworld in Norse lore. Not punishment. Not fear. A realm of ancestors and rest. I honor endings and the truth they bring.
