The Vision....
What do you do when God places a vision in your Soul that you KNOW you are unable to accomplish on your own?
Do you discount it?
Do you tuck it away for the future?
Do you let your subconscious overtake you, telling you all the reasons why it Can't work.....? Why it Won't work....?
Do you go to others, allowing them to confirm to you that you are
right- it won't work - (because it is important for us To Be Right!) - even if it means we miss out on some really beautiful things in life. I mean - at least we were right!
Do you go to the past in your mind, and remind yourself of ALL the Other Times, when things have Not worked out?
Do you limit yourself to what you see in front of you - because what's in front of you can make it pretty clear that there is NO way this vision could happen....
you don't have the money
you don't have the time
you don't have the skillset
you don't have the energy
you don't know the right people
you don't have the experience
you are too young
you are too old
you are ____________ (fill in the blank).
So many Reasons.
So much Stopping.
So Many Excuses.
One of the quotes we had our kids memorize when they were young was this, "Excuses do nothing but diminish the character of the person who uses them".
Yet, realistically, it does make sense, doesn't it? How will we find the time,
get the money,
meet the people,
learn the skills?
YET
What if we let go of the "curs-ed Hows"? All the reasons for why something will not work. You know that place. I think we all go there when we are not consciously choosing to stay away from it. The place that steals our joy when the goals and dreams and visions come to us. That place that keeps us stuck in the season where we feel comfortable, perhaps even content (which can be a fine place to be). However, it becomes an issue when we find ourselves continually choosing against something new because we cannot see the way in front of us.....like the entire path showing us exactly how we will get to the place we are wanting to go. Every step.
That is where the Faith piece comes in. What is Faith? What does it mean to have Faith? Does it mean we only believe in that which we see manifest in front of us? Or are we truly believing in something not visible in front of us and having Faith for it?
Hebrews 11:1 says, "Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen."
I ask my clients to do this all the time.....
Close your eyes.
Take a deep breath.
Exhale.
Then listen to the first answer you receive after I ask the question
Is this a Soul "Yes"? Meaning do you know, that you know, that
you know that you need to be doing ______________(fill in blank)?
If you know in your Soul that the answer is yes - then act on it. Action is the insignia of life.
And this is where the Faith part must be initiated. Because you may not have all the answers. You may not have all the money in front of you. You may not understand how all the pieces will come together. You may not possess all the skills to make it happen. This is what makes it a God Vision! It is so magnificent that you have no idea HOW to make it all work. This is the beautiful (and slightly terrifying part) Hence the crazy looking picture of me to drive this home.....
You don't have to have all the answers.
You don't have to have all the money.
You don't have to know all the people.
You don't have to have all the skills.
Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make straight your paths."
You just have to give God your YES and He will open up the path.
He just wants your YES.
So I ask you this.....
Is there a God Vision you are seeing and not acting on?
Is there a Yes God is waiting on from you?
