(HALA) is a rising alternative school that desires to equip at-risk children with the necessary tools to thrive and succeed in the home, school and community environments. By creating an innovative, student centered environment that provides one-to-one support by certified teachers, trained professional mental health clinicians and a behavioral support team, HALA strives to improve academics, prob
lem-solving and conflict resolution skills of the participants. This is a grass-roots organization for the people and by the people (for us by us) meaning that this program is specifically for the children of the Greater Harrisburg Area and it is organized by people that live in that same community. Our desire is to open the doors of the alternative school in the Fall of 2016 but we need your help. All of the funds donated to this program will provide an at-risk child that was placed out of the mainstream classroom with an opportunity to re-intergrate into their orignal classroom with the skills to succeed academically and behaviorally.
