There is far more involved in funeral service than most people ever see.

Many only see us standing at the door handing out memorial folders at a funeral. What they don’t see are the countless hours behind the scenes that take place before that moment ever arrives.

They don’t see us out in the middle of the night bringing loved ones into our care. They don’t see the phone calls with doctors, coroners, cemeteries, ministers, insurance companies, newspapers, florists, vault companies, and grave diggers. They don’t see the obituary writing, scheduling, paperwork, preparation work, or the coordination required to make every detail come together.

They don’t see memorial folders, register books, thank you cards, and video tributes being designed, printed, and folded by hand. They don’t see death certificates being filed, military honors arranged for veterans, Social Security notified, or temporary grave markers prepared for the cemetery.

These photos show just one small part of what happens behind the scenes at 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐭 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐥.

Funeral service is more than simply conducting a funeral. It is serving families with compassion, professionalism, attention to detail, and care during some of the hardest moments of life.

Well, folks, we had a little excitement last night! Someone accidentally gave our front yard sign a nudge during a visitation. Now, we’re not mad—things happen! We just hope you’re doing fine. This isn’t one of those “who did it” posts. Instead, it’s a reminder that everyone is welcome here—even if there’s an oopsie or two along the way. We’re all neighbors, and we understand.

Asking for a friend: metal sign repair or graphic ideas for a snazzy new one? 🤣

What a wonderful day at our Memorial Day Cook Out at 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐭 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐥! 🇺🇸

Even with the dreary weather, we had a great turnout and truly enjoyed spending time with so many friends, neighbors, and families from our community. There were lots of smiles, great conversations, and plenty of hamburgers and hotdogs enjoyed throughout the day.

We were also honored to have the 𝑯𝒂𝒓𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒐𝒏 𝑯𝒊𝒈𝒉 𝑺𝒄𝒉𝒐𝒐𝒍 𝑪𝒍𝒂𝒔𝒔 𝒐𝒇 1964 holding their yearly get-together in our atrium at the same time as the cook out. Several members of the class thanked us for the opportunity to host their reunion gathering at Holt Memorial Chapel, sharing how special the time together had been and that they were already planning to come back again next year. We are thankful to be able to provide a welcoming place where our community can gather, reconnect, and make meaningful memories together.

A special 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 to Mark Sloan and Chuck Coe for doing such a great job cooking the hamburgers and hotdogs for everyone. We also want to thank Anstaff Bank for allowing us to use their big grill/smoker for the event.

We especially want to recognize Allison Redman, who was truly the mastermind behind the cook out and handled so much of the preparation and legwork that made the day possible. Allison worked incredibly hard behind the scenes to help everything come together smoothly, and we are very thankful for all of her effort, dedication, and hard work.

This week, we proudly recognize and thank the dedicated men and women of NARMC EMS for their unwavering service to our community.

Day and night, in every kind of weather and circumstance, these EMTs, paramedics, dispatchers, and support staff answer the call with professionalism, compassion, and courage. They are often there during some of life’s most difficult and critical moments, bringing calm, care, and hope when it is needed most.

At, we have the privilege of working alongside many of these outstanding professionals, and we deeply appreciate their dedication not only to emergency medicine, but to the people and families of North Arkansas.

We still have some of our really fun commemorative hand fans available. They were a huge hit at the event in downtown Harrison on May 1st for one of the Harrison 150th Celebrations.

Sunday was a very special day for our family at Holt Memorial Chapel as 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐉𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐞, son of Phillip and Rachel Collie, graduated from Harrison High School with the Class of 2026. 🎓

Conner will be continuing his education at North Arkansas College, and we could not be more proud of the young man he has become. Hard-working, dependable, and always willing to help, Conner has spent countless hours assisting around the funeral home — helping on services, working in the yard, and stepping in wherever needed without hesitation.

Those who know him know his kind heart, respectful spirit, and willingness to serve others. Watching him grow into a fine young man has been a true blessing.

Conner James, we are so proud of you and excited to see what the future holds. May God continue to guide your steps and bless your journey ahead.

We’ll be serving hot dogs 🌭, hamburgers 🍔, chips, and enjoying a great afternoon together with family, friends, and neighbors. We’ll also have a few fun giveaways 🎁 and some Holt swag along the way!
