Today we celebrate a very special man—𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿.

John is so much more to me than a business partner. He has been my mentor, a steady guide, and truly like a father to me. Many years ago, while I was in mortuary school in Mountain Home, John was the manager at the funeral home where I worked. He loves to tell the story that he and Jackie invited me over for dinner one evening… and I just never left.

The truth is, they didn’t just open their home to me—they opened their lives. They adopted me and my Dover family, and over the years, they’ve embraced my wife and our boys as their own. To my boys, he’s “Papa John,” and Jackie is “Gigi”—and that says more than anything I could ever put into words.

John, thank you for always being there for me—for treating me like your own, for sharing your life, your knowledge, and your heart. What’s yours has always felt like mine, and I will never take that for granted.

We are better because of you in every way.
