📝 Dr. Crystal Gluch from Grand Valley State University's DPT Program invites you to participate in a brief, anonymous survey that explores the extent to which physical therapists in an outpatient setting provide care for individuals with heart failure as either a comorbidity or for related impairments. Whether you never, occasionally, or frequently see a patient that meets these criteria, your input is needed. Please forward the survey to your colleagues to expand our reach!

On 2/24/26, Andy Moul, APTA MI Eastern District Chair, represented APTA MI at a fundraiser in Lansing supporting Rep. Julie Rogers, PT.

As a fellow PT and steadfast advocate for our profession, Julie is running for State Senator in November 2026. She continues to be a true legislative champion for physical therapy in Lansing.

We end the week off with collaborative presentations between the PYIIIs DPT students and PTA
students, and the PYIIs dive into PNF patterns in their Neuromuscular Interventions class!

The PYIIIs are swinging into the day learning about sensory interventions for pediatrics, the
PYIIs got their exercise learning about different therapeutic exercise techniques utilizing a
swissball, and the PYIs participate in a creative assignment drawing their own “Super-PTs!”

Today was FILLED with hands-on learning!! The PYIIIs practice setting up a sterile field for
integumentary interventions, the PYIIs work on their manual skills in their Advanced
Musculoskeletal Diagnosis class, and the PYIs build their fundamental wheelchair skills🤩

Today, our PYIIIs are learning and instructing wheelchair skills, the PYIIs are acting out a 6-Minute Walk Test while learning about different Functional Exercise Testing measures they can use with future patients, and the PYIs work on proper patient positioning in their Patient Management class!!

📣 Upcoming Therapy Provider Liaison Meeting with Medicaid

Medicaid has scheduled our next biannual Therapy Provider Liaison meeting for Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 12:00–1:30 PM.

To ensure a productive and meaningful discussion, please submit any agenda topics as soon as possible. Early submissions allow time to research concerns, gather information, and invite additional MDHHS staff who may be best suited to address specific issues.

⚠️ Agenda items must be received by Thursday, February 26.
If no topics are submitted by that date, the meeting will be cancelled. Email your items to payment@aptami.org

These scheduled meetings with MDHHS — including PT, OT, and ST representation — are valuable and not easily secured. Your participation and topic submissions help ensure we make the most of this opportunity.
