A toddler feeding evaluation is more than just watching your child eat—it's about understanding how they eat. We look at oral motor skills, chewing, swallowing, sensory responses, and mealtime behaviors to build a plan that supports safe, happy, and healthy eating. Every bite counts!

Ever wonder what happens during an infant feeding evaluation? It’s all about understanding how your baby eats—looking at latch, oral motor skills, positioning, and more. We'll start by taking your full history and then we'll watch how baby eats (whether breast, bottle, or anything in between!). We'll try to fix what we can in the moment, and create a treatment plan for the things that need some extra work. Every baby is unique, and we’re here to support safe, comfortable feeding for both baby and caregiver, no matter what your modality.

Food and mealtimes are a crucial part of our everyday lives and cultures. There is nothing I enjoy more than sitting down to a good meal with my loved ones, and I want everyone to feel the same! Building good habits starts early. We also know that the prevalence of feeding disorders is somewhere between 5-20% of the general population. There is a lot of research that shows that early intervention can alleviate a lot of issues down the line.

This is a complicated question, so we’ll go with the summary version. I have always loved food. So much so that I went to the French Culinary Institute in my early 20s before I realized that I’d rather eat the food on a Friday night instead of cook it (shout out to all the chefs out there!). Then, when I went to grad school, I had the opportunity to take some masters level courses in Nutrition as well, and I absolutely fell in love. The more I went down the hole of nutrition and health and wellness, the more I felt like I needed to learn. Add to that a few run ins with some incompetent doctors and working in a hospital for years and realizing how much more we have left to learn about the human body, and I was hooked. I am also super passionate about helping people reach THEIR goals, not just the goals that everyone assumes you should have because that’s what’s common. I promise to truly listen to you and do everything in my power to help you along your path.

Hi! 👋 I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Caroline, and I'm a Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) and Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). Prior to starting Nest Level Care, I've worked in a number of different settings, from multiple acute care hospitals with neonatal intensive care units (NICU) to birth to 3, schools, and even a skilled nursing facility.
In 2019, my son was born. We had a lot of challenges in those early days, and it made me realize just how hard new parenthood was. I searched for support and found it in snippets here and there, but what I really wanted was one person who I trusted who could help me navigate all of the misinformation that is out there so that my family could be thriving instead of living in survival mode.
I'm excited that you're here with me! Feel free to reach out if you're looking for specific information or if you're looking for help!
