Did you know cruciferous vegetables have so many health benefits? There are plenty of them that you may enjoy such as broccoli, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, cabbage and kale to name a few.

Let's talk about broccoli today!

Broccoli is known to contribute to bone, digestive, heart and immune health and may help liver detoxification. It's high in fiber, antioxidants as well as carotenoids.

There are a variety of ways to enjoy broccoli.

Sautéed broccoli with olive/avocado oil, fresh garlic with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice and/or lemon zest is delicious alongside most meals. Other ways to enjoy broccoli include adding steamed broccoli to a salad and oven roasted broccoli with olive/avocado oil with salt and black pepper and optionally a sprinkle of cayenne or chili pepper for a hint of heat.

If you're trying to get some of this into your kid's meals and it's a challenge, add chopped broccoli into Mac and Cheese or Turkey Loaf or steamed broccoli into a ranch dip along with carrot, celery and bell pepper sticks.

The Strawberries are so delicious and plentiful right now!

A healthier way to enjoy them are in a salad with garden fresh lettuce, strawberries, radishes (the white ones look so good here) and a simple olive oil, lemon juice, sea salt and pinch of black pepper!

OR try Strawberry Rhubarb Sauce over a Strawberry Yogurt Parfait layered with slice almonds and drizzle with Strawberry Rhubarb Sauce!

They're so delicious right out of the box! You can also toss them with watermelon and some fresh mint for a simple snack!
