If you get sick during a freeze, the last thing you want to do is drive on icy roads. 🧊

It’s smart to check your "Sick Kit" now, before you actually need it. Beyond the usual soup and tissues, here are three things people often forget:

Batteries: Digital thermometers often die after sitting in cold storage. Check yours today!

Electrolytes: Dehydration happens faster in dry cold weather than you’d think. Keep some Gatorade powder or Pedialyte on hand.

The Right Cough Meds: Know the difference between an expectorant (to thin mucus) and a suppressant (for that dry hacking cough).

If your cabinet is looking empty, swing by. We’ll help you get stocked up so you can stay home and rest if a bug hits your house.

By now, your hands are probably feeling the effects of this cold snap. 🧤

Here is a tip from the pharmacy aisle: If your regular moisturizer isn’t working, check the bottle. Is it a "lotion" in a pump?

Water-based lotions can evaporate too quickly in this dry, cold (or even freeze on your skin in sub-zero temps!). To actually fix dry, cracked hands, you need creams (in a tub) or ointments.

Look for ingredients like petrolatum or ceramides. They create a heavier barrier that holds up against the wind chill much better. We have the heavy-duty stuff in stock if you need relief!

Does your house feel a little like the desert right now? 🌵

When we run the heat nonstop to battle these freezing nights, the air inside gets incredibly dry. You might be waking up with a scratchy throat or a dry nose—even if you aren’t sick.

A few things that help:

Saline Nasal Gel: This works better than sprays for preventing cracked, painful nasal passages.

Humidifiers: Adding moisture back into the air can stop that dry cough before it starts.

Lozenges: Look for those with a mild numbing agent (anesthetic) to soothe a throat irritated by dry air.

We have plenty of options in the aisles. Stop by Sparkman or Mynatt if you need help picking the right one.

Stay warm!

Quick safety reminder while the temps are still dipping low! ❄️

We know many of you leave prescriptions in the car while running errands, but please bring them inside immediately this week.

Liquid medications and Insulin can lose their effectiveness if they freeze. If you have liquid antibiotics for the kids or insulin for yourself, try to keep them at room temperature. If you are traveling, an insulated travel bag is a must-have right now.

Also, if you rely on refrigerated meds and are worried about power outages, ask us about the best way to store them with ice packs just in case.

We want to make sure your medicine works exactly like it should. Call us if you have questions!
