Pine Grove has been out and about this week connecting with our community and fellow professionals!

Angela had a great time attending the Gulf Coast Social Work Conference and enjoyed spending time with Emma and Arely from Forrest General Hospital HR. It’s always energizing to connect with others who are passionate about supporting people and making a difference.

Meanwhile, our Clinical Director, Sally Moody, LCSW, spent time speaking with counselors from Lamar County Schools, sharing resources and continuing important conversations about mental health support for students and families.

We’re grateful for these opportunities to build relationships and keep showing up in the communities we serve.

Meet the People Who Help People

Meet Brooke Helton, one of the incredible faces behind the care at Pine Grove, and one of our very own Healthcare Heroes. Brooke is a Registered Dietitian who has been part of our Pine Grove family since 2007. She earned her degree from Mississippi State University and completed her dietetic internship there as well, but what truly sets her apart is the heart she brings to her work every day.

Brooke works closely with our dual diagnosis patients, helping them build healthier relationships with food while supporting their recovery journey. From setting nutrition goals to walking alongside those facing eating disorders, Brooke is a powerful reminder that healing happens on every level, mind, body, and spirit.

The internet can be an amazing place for learning, creativity, and connection, but it can also expose children to things they aren’t ready for.

Meet Edie Lockett , one of our Healthcare Heroes.

Some people don’t just do their job, they truly change lives. Edie Lockett is one of those people.

Edie is the Family Therapist in our Next Step program, and from the very beginning of her journey with Pine Grove (she actually started here as an intern), she has had a heart for helping not just individuals, but the families who walk through recovery alongside them.

Edie believes that healing isn’t something that happens in isolation. Addiction and mental health affect entire families, and she shows up every day ready to listen, support, guide, and remind people that they don’t have to navigate this alone.

We are incredibly proud to share that Edie was recently named a 2026 Healthcare Hero for Best Marriage & Family Therapist, and honestly… we couldn’t think of anyone more deserving. Her compassion, dedication, and genuine care shine through in every conversation she has and every life she touches.
