Our Story
Greater Haverhill Indivisible is an independent and nonpartisan grassroots organization focused on local advocacy to protect our democratic values; to fight back against racist, sexist, and divisive policies; and to promote an inclusive agenda based on progressive values/for social, economic, racial and environmental justice.
Our Core Values 1. We believe in inclusiveness, dignity of every human being, and “love your neighbor” as our core principles. 2. Therefore, we are opposed to divisiveness and discrimination based on religion, ethnicity, race, and gender and sexual orientation. 3. We believe in immigration reform and everyone’s right to seek asylum from persecution; we are opposed to deportations, the wall, and the immigration ban. 4. We believe that healthcare is a human right, and we believe in health care for all. 5. We believe in science and climate change and in our responsibility to protect the environment and the rights of the next generations to live in an inhabitable earth. 6. We believe every individual has the right to social security and is entitled to realization of the economic, social, educational and cultural rights indispensable for pursuit of happiness. 7. We believe that everyone who works should receive a living wage to be able to afford the basic human needs of shelter, nutrition, education, and healthcare. 8. As citizens of the richest country on earth, we believe it is our duty to take care of those who are not able to work for reasons beyond their control including illnesses and disabilities. 9.We believe in democratic rights, freedom of speech and a free press and in our role as citizens in protecting our democracy by being engaged and informed citizens. We consider rising income inequality and money in politics as great threats to our democracy that we as citizens must address and fight to end. 10. We believe in "progress" toward better economic and social conditions for everyone embracing the values of cooperation, community and service.
