Devyon Alezander Schmidt was born October 12, 2005. He was too beautiful for this earth. On October 11, 2005, we went in for a routine doctor's appointment. I was 33 1/2 weeks along. I had lost 15 pounds. I could suck my belly in and you couldn't tell I was pregnant. The day was just off. My blood pressure was out of control. They had a student doctor that day. He came in first. He couldn't find t
he heartbeat but Devyon had flipped a couple weeks back. He went and got the doctor and she couldn't find it either. I was sent to ultrasound. After waiting for what seemed forever, the doctor came in. Jeremy had left to go get my son from school. The doctor put the wand to my belly and I heard I'm sorry and then screaming and crying. Arms were wrapped around me and a piece of me died. How could this happen? How could I not protect my child? After Jeremy came back, we left to go home for my bag. To go home to see a nursery ready to be put together. We had to go have a baby. A baby that would never come home to us. Labor is the most painful thing a person can go through. At the end though you are supposed to get to meet your love. Going through labor to deliver an angel, is the hardest thing physically and emotionally. I hope this will start to bring encouragement and knowledge to pregnancy and infant loss. Kari
