Coaching vs. Therapy
I get asked this question a lot!
Although there are significant differences in credentials and requirements, we both have the same goal; For others to experience personal growth and transformation.
Helping individuals improve their well-being, build resilience, and thrive in their lives! 💪💫
This is just the tip of the iceberg.. there are many more differences and similarities between coaching and therapy.
In coaching, we focus on the present and future, helping you set clear goals and providing the tools, skills, and resources to achieve them. Emotional regulation, self-awareness, and learning from the past are important parts of the journey, but our focus remains on actionable steps moving forward.
In contrast, therapy tends to explore the past, digging into the "why" behind your behaviors and addressing underlying emotional or psychological factors. It is clinically focused and often offers more intensive support.
While both approaches are valuable and complementary, they have distinct purposes. And we work beautifully together with clients 💕
‼️Not all coaches are the same‼️
Board-certified coaches, like myself, have undergone extensive training in a national board-approved program, which typically lasts no less than two years.
This process also includes, mentorship, and meeting specific hour requirements to qualify for the exam. This certification is overseen by the same organizations that regulate medical examiners, National Board of Medical Examiners, ensuring a high standard of expertise.
As a Health and Wellness Coach, I bring more than just my board certification to the table.
In addition, I hold certifications in personal training, nutrition coaching, and lifestyle medicine, among others. These qualifications allow me to provide a holistic approach to wellness, supporting clients in not just mental and emotional growth but also in physical health and overall well-being 🧠🧘♂️🍲
Allowing me to work alongside doctors to aid in patients' adherence to their health and wellness plans.
