✨ Community Partnership Spotlight ✨

Today, Lynette with Back on Track showed up in a big way for The Free Clinics! Her generosity and commitment to our community will directly support our neighbors experiencing homelessness and help us continue our outreach efforts where they’re needed most.

We are incredibly grateful to have a community partner like Lynette who truly cares and takes action. These supplies make a real difference—especially during the cold weather months.

During our weekly street outreach, our Outreach Coordinator & Peer Support, Jessica, goes out to meet people where they are, offering care, compassion, and support. Thanks to this community partnership like this, we can continue providing life-saving warmth and essential resources to those who need them most.

It truly takes a village, and today we are feeling so thankful to be part of one that shows up with heart. 💙

Did you know naloxone (Narcan) can freeze in very cold temperatures?

When temps drop below 5°F, nasal naloxone may freeze and won’t spray—but here’s the good news:

✔️ Thawed Narcan is still effective.
If it has frozen, let it return to room temperature for about 15 minutes before using.

🚨 If an overdose is suspected, call 911 immediately. Narcan saves lives, but emergency medical care is still critical.

Due to weather conditions, The Free Clinics will be closed on Monday, January 26, 2026.
Weather permitting, we plan to reopen on Tuesday.

The safety of our neighbors, staff, and volunteers is always our top priority.

We would like to announce that CODE GRACE will be in effect at Hendersonville Rescue Mission during this weekend's extreme weather event and as cold temperatures persist into next week.

Code Grace guests are offered a warm safe place to sleep and are not required to participate in any programs or stay a designated length of time. All safety procedures remain in effect for the health and wellbeing of our guests.

Winter Preparenness Reminder

With All of this winter weather expected this weekend, now is a good time to prepare.

Make sure you have enough food, water, medications, and supplies to last several days. Charge your phones, check your flashlights, and have a plan incase of power outages or travel delays.

If you or your family need support or resources, The Free Clinics is here for you! Let's look out for one another and stay safe, warm, and prepared!

As of 11 AM Fri 1/23: Ice Storm Warning now in effect for our entire forecast area, 1 PM Sat to 1 PM Mon, replacing Winter Storm Watch. Expected impacts haven't changed, but confidence has increased on significant/widespread impact mainly from freezing rain--thus the name change. Sleet still may mix in, but impacts will be on the level of an ice storm, including widespread and long-duration power outages.

With a winter storm expected this weekend, now is the time to plan ahead. Make sure you have at least a 7-day supply of your medications, a plan for power outages, and a safe way to keep any refrigerated medications cold if needed.
