✨ Dizzy? Off balance? You don’t have to live that way.

We’re excited to share that our very own Marissa Boutin is now Vestibular Rehabilitation & Concussion Certified through the American Institute of Balance!🎉

That means we can now help treat a wide range of dizziness, balance, and concussion-related conditions — including:

🔹 BPPV (Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo)
That sudden room-spinning feeling when you roll over in bed or lie down

🔹 Vestibulopathy
Feeling “floaty,” foggy, or unsteady (even when the room isn’t spinning)

🔹 Vestibular Neuritis
Lingering dizziness after an illness

🔹 Post-Concussion Syndrome
Helping you safely return to school, work, and sport

🔹 Vestibular Migraine

🔹 PPPD (Persistent Postural-Perceptual Dizziness)

💡 If you’ve been told “it’s just dizziness” or you’re not sure what’s going on — there are answers, and there is treatment.

👉 You don’t have to keep avoiding movement or feeling off balance. We’re here to help you feel steady, confident, and back to yourself again.

April is Parkinson’s Awareness Month 💙

Parkinson’s disease affects movement, balance, and coordination—but there is so much that can be done to help people stay active, independent, and empowered.

Physical Therapy plays a key role in supporting those with Parkinson’s by:

✨ Improving balance and reducing fall risk
✨ Enhancing mobility and walking patterns
✨ Building strength and flexibility
✨ Promoting bigger, more intentional movements
(think BIG & LOUD!)
✨ Helping maintain independence in daily life

The right movement can truly be medicine.

Beyond PT, there are amazing community-based programs designed specifically for those with Parkinson’s. These can be both effective and fun:

🥊 Boxing programs
💃 Dance classes
🗣️ BIG & LOUD programs
🤝 Support groups and exercise classes

👉 We encourage you to explore what’s available in your community!

📍 Local resources (Richmond, VA):

American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA) Virginia Chapter (757-495-3062)

VCU Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders Center (804-360-4669)

Power Over Parkinson's (contact@poweroverpd.org)
offer specialized support, exercise classes, and care partner groups.

Circle Center support groups, and the Parkinson’s Foundation helpline (1-800-4PD-INFO).

💙You’re not alone—and with the right support, there is hope, strength, and progress every step of the way.

💪🚨 BIG ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨💪

We’ve officially decided… it’s time for EVERYONE to start maxing out on their first visit 😤🔥

No warm-ups. No prep. Just straight to lifting your absolute max.
(We call it “efficient care”)

🏋️‍♂️ Today’s highlights include:
• Leg extensions with pool noodles
• Bicep curls with paper weights😂

Honestly, the gains have been unreal. We’re expecting calls from the Olympics any day now.

😄 April Fools!

At our clinic, we actually focus on safe, personalized progressions to help you get stronger without risking injury. No ridiculous lifts required 😉

But hey… you have to admit, our patients made it look pretty impressive 😎

Struggling to keep your heels down when you squat?👀
Your ankles might be the missing link.

In today’s video, Sarah demonstrates the knee-to-wall ankle mobility stretch—a simple move that can make a BIG difference.

✨ Why it matters:
✔️ Improves ankle mobility
✔️ Helps you achieve deeper, more stable squats
✔️ Reduces compensations (like heels lifting or knees caving in)
✔️ Can decrease stress on your knees and lower back

Better ankle mobility = better movement everywhere. Whether you're lifting, running, or just trying to move without pain, this is a game-changer.

Give it a try and let us know how it feels! 👇

Happy 102nd Birthday to one of our all-time favorites! 🎉🇺🇸

Today we’re celebrating a very special milestone for a very special person. Our longtime patient, a World War II veteran and true hometown hero, turned 102 years young this week!

His strength, resilience, and positive attitude inspire our entire team every time he walks through the door. It’s an honor to be part of his journey and to help keep him moving, strong, and doing the things he loves.

Please join us in wishing him a very happy birthday and thanking him for his service and the example he sets for all of us. ❤️

102 years strong… and still going! 💪🎂

While that sometimes may be the case, pain doesn't always mean damage.

Most of the time, it means your body isn’t tolerating the stress you’re putting on it.

Too much sitting
Too little strength
Too little movement
Too much repetition

The good news:
Your body can be trained to reduce the stress being placed on it or adapt to tolerate it=relief from pain

Whether your pain is from injury or from imbalance/stressors, that’s what physical therapy is here to help you fix!

😴 Sleep might be the most underrated form of recovery.

In honor of National Sleep Awareness Week, here’s your reminder that a good night’s sleep does more for your body than you might realize.

While you sleep, your body is busy: ✨ Repairing muscles and tissues

🧠 Resetting your brain and improving focus
🦴 Supporting joint health and recovery
💪 Restoring energy so you can move better tomorrow

If you’re dealing with aches, tightness, or nagging injuries, quality sleep can be a game-changer for healing. Your body does some of its best recovery work overnight.

So tonight, give yourself permission to:

📵 Put the phone down a little earlier
🌙 Create a relaxing bedtime routine
🛌 Aim for 7–9 hours of rest

Your body will thank you tomorrow.

💬 Tell us in the comments: How many hours of sleep do you usually get?

Tight back or shoulders? Try this simple trick with a ball. 🎾

Alexa is demonstrating an easy way to use a lacrosse or tennis ball to release tight muscles and stubborn trigger points in your back and shoulders.

This technique can help:
• Reduce muscle tension
• Improve mobility
• Relieve those hard-to-reach knots in your low back or between your shoulder blades

All you need is a wall and a ball. Small tool…big relief. 🙌

Give it a try and let us know how it feels!

⚠️ Pro tip: Slow pressure + deep breathing works best. If the pain is sharp or persistent, it’s worth getting it checked out.

Save this for later and share with someone who always complains about a tight back! 👇
