FRITZ MALE. Sad to share that we lost our wonderful dog Fritz suddenly this evening. Fritz came into Maggie’s and my lives ~13 years ago when he wondered into Maggie’s office building at Case after being abandoned during the Great Recession. He lived with us in our Cleveland Heights condo, was the life of many parties (bar stool slalom was his best trick, ) and he loved going for long runs around Wade Oval Park. His nickname was The Donkey because of his uncanny posture similarity to the same character in Shrek. Fritz was there to greet Max and then Maddie when we brought them home from the hospital and was a perfect friend to both over the years. More than anything, Fritz loved car rides with the kids and long walks. He had not been his usual energetic self these last two days, so Max and I took him for a ride to the car wash, which he enjoyed. In the middle of his and my evening walk tonight, the same walk we’ve done thousands of times, Fritz suffered a massive heart attack and passed away on the way to the hospital, just after the kids had the opportunity to say goodbye. We are grateful to have been blessed with Fritz coming into our lives all of those years ago and the great joy he provided our family. Love you and miss you, buddy.
