Pocono Mountain Recovery Center

Pocono Mountain Recovery Center Located in Henryville, Pennsylvania, we serve adults who are facing addictions and co-occurring mental health concerns within a peaceful mountain setting.

Our evidence-based services include detox, residential care, and an intensive outpatient program. Located on approximately 10 acres in Henryville, PA, PMRC offers patients a rustic, peaceful environment where you will learn about sobriety. Our intimate meeting rooms offer the ideal setting for group sessions and small group discussions. Patient rooms are semi-private and are situated in the main building along side a beautiful stream. We believe a patient's progress in treatment is hindered when isolated and that having a roommate leads to a richer, deeper treatment experience. Comfortable common areas are available for patient use during reflection periods and leisure time.

When depression and substance use overlap, the challenges can intensify. Many people use substances to cope with low mood or anxiety, but this often deepens the cycle and makes recovery harder.

Understanding the connection is key to breaking free. With early intervention, therapy, support groups, and self-care practices, healing is possible.

Caring for your mental health is about creating habits that promote resilience and strength.

The words you say to yourself matter—positive self-talk boosts confidence and shifts perspective. Pair it with coping strategies such as mindfulness, exercise, journaling, or supportive connections to build calm and stability in everyday life.

This week, we honor Mental Illness Awareness Week, themed “My Mental Health at Work.”

Workplaces aren’t separate from our mental health—they shape it. Stress, culture, and support all impact how we feel and function.

If you’re struggling with burnout or feeling overwhelmed, remember you’re not alone. Let’s take this week to promote environments where well-being is built into our work culture. https://ow.ly/stMf50X7aCn
