FINAL: Elden was safely caught by Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources and relocated. He was not harmed. We love you, Elden!

The bear, we have named Elden, is still in a tree in the 800-blk of Elden St. A biologist from is en route to assess the situation and determine the best plan to relocate Elden. Elden Street between Center and Grace is closed to vehicle traffic and foot traffic. Find an alternate route and avoid the area if possible. Updates as available.

Please welcome Dr. Randall-Smith to the HAMC team!🐾

Jenna has been in the veterinary field for over 20 years. She grew up in Syracuse, New York. She received her veterinary degree from The Ohio State University of Veterinary Medicine in 2007. She's been practicing in the DC, Virgina, and Maryland area since 2008.

Her interests include internal medicine, feline medicine and preventative care. Outside of work, Dr. Randall-Smith enjoys watching and attending sports at Penn State, cheering on her kids, and spending time with her dog, Skeller and cat, Alastor.

Her first day at HAMC is May 19, so be sure to say hello and welcome! 👏🏼
