Cooper's Monster Creations Cooper's Monster Creations is a concept that's being brought to life by 7yr old Chase Cooper. After a brief Hospital stay he wanted to help Make Kids Happy

Cooper's Monster Creations is a concept that is being brought to life by seven year old Chase Cooper. On October 10th 2014, Chase was rushed to the hospital via ambulance. That was the day we found out that Chase has Epilepsy. He was kept at the Hershey Medical Center for 3 days so they could run an abundance of test and try to get us the answers that we suddenly needed. During that time, he met a lot of Warriors. Children who have been there for months battling the unthinkable. It made an impact on him. This past May, Chase received his Twitch Doll (Twitch the Epilepsy Fighting Monster). He was so excited, dragging it with us and sleeping with it every night. He asked if ALL kids who are sick get to get a Twitch. When I explained that this Amazing Organization was for people with Epilepsy, he asked if WE could make one for All the kids at the Hospital. I thought it was a nice thought, but I didn't put much thought into it, at that time. A couple weeks ago ( 7/16) he became relentless. We finally gave in and made the call to see what we needed to do to make this a possibility for him. After a few days of back and forth, we FINALLY got approval for Chase to sew/make Monsters for the Kids at The Children's Hospital. YAY, so exciting. When I told Chase, he actually cried. I think it finally hit right then, what this means to him. Chase struggles in many areas, especially in social environments. He often seems to lack empathy for others. When he repeatedly showed interest in this cause, helping others, both Chris and I decided we needed to encourage this. After all, inspiring compassion in kids and ensuring their happiness, should be a priority for everyone! What better way than to help one Child be happy while making hundreds of Children happy?

***ALL Monsters are made with the help of Chase. From picking out the material, monster design, cutting the material and sewing it. He is involved, this is his "Creation." His brother and sister have also joined in to help. This is why it is called "Cooper's Monster Creation," he said, "We are Coopers and we are creating."

Thank you Milton S. Hershey Medical Center for sharing Chase's Mission. Chase is excited to head to Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores to pick out some more supplied so he can get started on the next batch of Monsters. We are planning on narrowing down one other Hospital in our area that we would like to Donate to as well. This Little Guys' Heart is so big.

Yesterday was "THE" Day. The day where Chase delivered his Monsters to The Hershey Children's Hospital at Milton S. Hershey Medical Centerl. He was nervous and excited all at once. He carried both bags of Monsters in all by himself and even gave one of them to an adorable little girl who was heading in for some scans. That was a humbling moment for both of us. A huge Thank You goes out to Sara M. at the Child Life Program for making this journey a possibility for our Little Guy. He can't wait to hear how happy his Monsters make the boys and girls. We ended up donating a total of 75 monsters and the Children's hospital has 72 beds, so every child will be able to have a Monster. During this journey we also handed out 28 Monsters to those in need. Not to bad. We have lots of plans to continue on with Monster Making. Thank you to everyone for all of your help and support.

Chasers was out and about today, picking some new material for his Monsters. I gave him a dollar amount today for what we had available to spend and he was very conscious of how much he was putting into the cart. He loaded his items up on the counter, handed the lady his coupons and then the money. Once his items were bagged he said thank you and was ready to go. I guess this week we will be cutting out some more monsters!

Somebody is working on trying to customize a few Monster Faces while I'm still trying to figure out this operating manual. (Then I am going to have to figure out how to digitize his faces so I can put them on the embroidery machine!) All in all, we are having a great night tonight. Monsters will be on their way, soon.

Thank You doesn't seem like enough. The whole team of volunteers from Asylum Run are Amazing. You guys made it possible for Chase to get his embroidery machine, but not only that you guys made him and his siblings part of your family. We look forward to seeing you all tomorrow. (With any luck, Iwillbeable to figure this machine out and help Chase get his first Embroidered Monster done!)
