Did you know that caregivers are 2.5 times more likely to experience depression?
Depression makes everything feel difficult. I describe it like swimming through peanut butter.
You know what makes depression feel worse?
Your house being a mess.
The disorder adds to the strain.
My solution is to stop and tackle things in 10 minutes. You can wash dishes for 10 minutes. Or just wash the cups. You can sort laundry for 10 minutes.
Just 10 minutes 3 times will make a difference. You'll see it.
And tomorrows 10 minutes will add on.

As a mom and a caregiver, I carry most of my stress in my shoulders. I don't take deep breaths. It only makes it feel worse.
Today stop and take a few deep breaths. Check out a youtube video on 4-7-8 breathing. Super simple and you can do it in like 2 minutes anywhere.

The weekend is approaching. Before you dive into whatever that means for you, take a walk.
Ask your spouse to watch the kids. Figure out a way. 10 minutes. Go for a walk by yourself. Don't bring the phone or the earbuds. Just notice the sounds of nature, the smells, and the colors. Breathe. Maybe tell yourself a few great things about yourself.
Take a moment to find quiet and breathe.

There are so many apps to help. I have Finch, Asana, and SlowDive. There are tons of them. Even the free version will give you options.
You need to breathe. Its letting the tension out of your shoulders. Its taking that weight off your chest.

What does that mean?
That means, I'm here to help you be the healthiest version of yourself. I don't go about this by asking about your diet and helping you eat more vegetables.
I want to look at your life. Where is your stress? Where is your joy? How do you like to move? Do you like to cook? What are your closest relationships like?

Good Morning! Its another day to tackle all the tasks in front of you. I know it seems stressful and overwhelming but you have the ability to tackle the day!
I'm going to encourage you to add a few things to that long list.
Let's Fill Your Cup.
-Take a deep breath. Find an app to help.
-Drink some water. Maybe when you get up, at about 10, at about 2, at about 7.
-Do a quick body scan. Are you carrying stress somewhere in your body?
-Can you find 5 minutes to be outside in a quiet place without distractions?
