In NYC for work and made my way to Central Park. ❤️🌇🌳 Forest therapy guiding has given me the permission to SLOW DOWN and spend time with my curiosities. This morning’s time with this rock was more rejuvenating than any run, brisk walk, or email catch up time would have been! 🙏🏼🙏🏼

“The forest is the therapist. The guide opens the door.” As I finish up my certification as a forest therapy guide with the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Guides & Programs (ANFT), I am guiding 4 practice walks. I am doing 3 in-person, but I want to try one virtually. I am stoked that a virtual platform can include folks and friends from anywhere!! DM or text me if you’d like to join!

The forest is the therapist, and the guide opens the doors. I am coming toward the end of my 6-month certification to be a certified forest therapy guide through the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Guides and Programs () and will be doing a few practice walks this spring. Please come help me practice! This is a passion project for me, and I do plan on it becoming a small biz side hustle, so donations are welcomed but not required while I am in training. PM/text me if you’re interested!

“…the quickest route back to self, to inner peace, is bare feet on grass, arms around trees, head in the clouds and heart in a forest. Put your weary body in water, whenever you can. Smell every flower you see and crumble dirt between your tired-of-typing fingers. You are nature, so go home once in a while. It will bring you so much you didn’t even know you were missing.” (Excerpt) - Donna Ashworth

What started as a grumpy, forced walk with heavy limbs evolved organically into connecting with my heart, my hope, and my dreams.

There are many ways to come home to yourself. For me: lifting, the forest, and transcendental meditation. Fitting in at least one of these every day is non-negotiable. Strength, nature, and meditation…different doors, same calm.

When the thought to reel it in and go home slipped its little toe into the door of my head, I opened it…and pushed myself outside with it…and I sprinted off without it. ❄️ (my vest is everything)

Today I practiced guiding with a few of my forest therapy training guide friends. We each led our own part of the immersion, nerves and all. And yet—those three hours unfolded in the most beautiful, effortless way. It was a reminder that when we partner with the forest and truly listen, the forest offers what’s needed. All we have to do is let it in. (Thank you to + for keeping me cozy in the the stillness of forest bathing in sub-freezing temps for 3 hours!)

The bed in silence again was inviting…but today, I got out there!

Best birthday morning! A lil running, a lot walking, a lil adrenaline (worrying that Dottie got lost), and a LOT of adrenaline seeing how much Dottie loved running, and a lot of exercise carrying a tired Penny for a mile! ❤️❤️

Discovering the power of wandering. I wandered today for 30 min - just wandered wherever my curiosity took me. About halfway min in, my mind started releasing a bit, and the noise of my thoughts got quieter. I stopped occasionally to touch the plants, to be curious about how they felt…and to watch what’s in motion. I feel bonded to this space in a way I wouldn’t have before if I had an agenda or a “goal.” What a treat!
