• A Little About Your Teacher •
I grew up in “almost heaven” West Virginia. My mother and I spent the first years of my life before grade school living with my great grandmother. “Grams” was a trained vocalist and pianist. She built a career as a music educator for four decades and continued to share her gifts in her community until her passing. As a child, I was always surrounded by music.
As a pr***en, I had the privilege of being a teaching assistant one summer at the dance studio where I attended, and fell in love. During my senior year of high school, I taught my very first jazz class. I was asked to teach some dance basics at an afterschool program that same year. I continued to teach at the studio during summer breaks while in college. After graduating, I had the amazing opportunity to teach 6 semesters of dance at Marshall University. I continued teaching at a couple local studios as well as subbed long term and guest instructed at various studios within the tristate community of WV, OH, and KY. In 2021, I became a licensed Kindermusik instructor, and shortly after, GroovaRoo Dance. Bringing joy and encouragement to others through arts is truly a honor and I look forward to sharing that with the Hill Country community.
