Our driving force is to improve emotional health and wellbeing for Latinx communities across our state and beyond. We do this by working alongside community leaders and traditional health workers, creating safe healing spaces, culturally-rooted community engagement practices, training and education, direct clinical services, and expert consultation on culturally responsive clinical practice and system change. Dra. Ruth Zúñiga will be transitioning out of her role as Executive Director in June of this year. In the meantime, she will be supporting Raíces with other staff transitions and strengthening direct clinical services. Earlier this month, Raíces de Bienestar had the profound privilege of receiving an accompanying flag from Senator Jeffery Merkley during a community meeting. Our own Jocelin Garcia addressed Washington County residents, highlighting the significant contributions Raíces makes to our community.

We are incredibly thankful for this acknowledgment of our efforts within the Latine community, especially during these turbulent times. This recognition further inspires us to persist in our advocacy and emphasizes the vital role of mental health for everyone. We appreciate this honor, which strengthens our dedication to our mission.
