“Meet people, let people see the beauty I see in the world and get some expøsure for my start.”- Sarah Perry
Hello, my name is Sarah Perry, and this is my second art show. In this collection, I am highlighting my love and inspiration drawn from African art and culture.
My connection to Africa began during my first year of high school. I was deeply drawn to animals, nature, African people, their artistic designs, and the spiritual elements woven into their culture. In art class, I spent time researching African traditions through library books and early internet resources. I would study images and then create my own interpretations—developing original designs inspired by what I saw.
At the time, I was also influenced by stories like The Lion King and Tarzan, which further sparked my imagination and curiosity. My passion extended beyond painting—I even designed an African-themed wedding concept for a floral class project, imagining every detail through that cultural lens.
Through my research and creative exploration, I fell in love with the richness of African culture—the bold patterns, vibrant colors, and breathtaking landscapes. These elements continue to inspire my work today.
I hope my art brings you a sense of that beauty and inspiration, and that you enjoy experiencing this collection as much as I enjoyed creating it.
Thank you for your support.
