Final hours. Registration closes tonight at 11:59 PM EST.
Jeffrey Young invites you to celebrate 35 years of Schema Therapy.
In 1986, Jeff founded this model because he refused to accept that patients with personality disorders and complex trauma were untreatable. He spent a decade integrating depth work, structure, emotion, and attachment science into one approach that reaches the places other models cannot.
Thirty-five years later, Schema Therapy is one of the Big Four evidence-based treatments for borderline personality disorder. Highest recovery rates. Lowest dropout rates. Practiced in over 50 countries by therapists who've witnessed the breakthroughs this model creates.
The Jeffrey Young Schema Therapy Association (JYSTA) created this symposium to honor Jeff, celebrate the model, and bring together the global community that's made Schema Therapy what it is today.
December 4-5. Jeff presents alongside Wendy Behary, Joan Farrell, Ida Shaw, Pierre Cousineau, Rita Younan, Gery Karantzas, and the master clinicians who've advanced this work for decades.
Your ticket includes 90-day replay access, 19 CE credits, translation in 10 languages, and a 1-year JYSTA membership connecting you to Schema Therapy professionals worldwide.
This is the celebration. This is the moment.
Tonight at 11:59 PM EST is the deadline.

Registration closes Wednesday December 3rd at 11:59 PM EST. Final hours.
Wendy Behary is presenting on treating couples impacted by narcissism, and if you've worked with these couples, you know standard approaches fail.
Schema chemistry explains why they chose each other: an unconscious pull toward someone who replicates early unmet needs. At first it looks like love. Then it becomes the battlefield where narcissistic defenses meet subjugation, where entitlement collides with self-sacrifice, where deflection makes repair feel impossible.
Wendy shows you how Schema Therapy's flexible framework works when standard couples models don't. ST alternates between individual and joint sessions, creating space for personal healing alongside relational repair. You'll learn how to manage narcissistic defenses, support the non-narcissistic partner in reclaiming their voice, and reduce cycles of conflict that other approaches can't touch.
Wendy is the world's leading expert on narcissism and schema therapy. Her international bestseller "Disarming the Narcissist" is translated in 16 languages and was selected by Oprah Daily as a top book on narcissism. She's trained with Jeffrey Young since 1989 and served as ISST President.
Your ticket includes 90-day replay access, 19 CE credits, 10 languages, and 1-year JYSTA membership.

Ida Shaw and Maria Galimzyanova are presenting on mode clashes between parents and teens, and this is the framework families desperately need.
When a parent operates from Over-controller mode and the teen is in Angry Protector mode, the harder the parent pushes, the more the teen withdraws and escalates. Traditional interventions miss what's actually happening. Ida and Maria show you how to recognize the mode clash, identify underlying needs, and facilitate negotiations that address both the parent's need for safety and the teen's need for freedom.
This removes blame and gives families tools to resolve conflicts independently. If you work with adolescents ages 12-25 and their parents, this session changes your practice.
Ida is an ISST Honorary Lifetime Member, co-developed Group Schema Therapy, and authored three influential books on schema therapy. Maria is a certified trainer and supervisor specializing in developmental psychology and schema therapy for children and adolescents.
Your ticket includes 90-day replay access, 19 CE credits, 10 languages, and 1-year JYSTA membership.

Registration closes tonight at 11:59 PM Eastern. Last chance.
Ida Shaw is presenting on Schema Therapy for Dissociative Identity Disorder, and this approach transforms what used to take over a decade into years of effective treatment.
DID typically involves 20-100 dissociative parts, each with different memories, emotions, and coping mechanisms. Most therapists feel overwhelmed by the complexity. Ida and Joan Farrell developed a model that consolidates those parts into five schema modes, making treatment manageable and significantly shorter.
You'll learn how to conceptualize DID clients through the mode approach and use adapted schema therapy interventions that actually work. Their case series showed positive clinical results in two years, a dramatic improvement over traditional treatment timelines.
Ida is an ISST Honorary Lifetime Member, co-developed Group Schema Therapy, led the five-country BPD study, and authored three influential books including The Schema Therapy Clinician's Guide.
Your ticket includes 90-day replay access, 19 CE credits, 10 languages, and 1-year JYSTA membership.

Jeff Conway is presenting on boundaries and how intrusive boundaries create the Enmeshment/Undeveloped Self schema. This isn't just about teaching clients to say no. It's about understanding how unhealthy boundaries block autonomy and how to establish healthy boundaries in the therapeutic relationship that actually heal the schema.
Jeff shows you how to communicate about boundaries in ways that support autonomy and agency, and how to manage boundary violations when they show up in therapy. If you've had clients who struggle with enmeshment or can't develop their own identity, this session gives you what you need.
Jeff is the former President of ISST, founding member, and has trained therapists internationally for decades.

Registration closes tonight at 11:59 PM Eastern. Last chance.
Lynda Parry is presenting on using dream material in Schema Therapy, and if you've had clients who can't emotionally connect with their schemas no matter what you try, this approach opens a different door.
Dreams naturally connect current events with past experience through memory consolidation. Lynda shows how to use dream material with emotional focus techniques from Schema Therapy to help clients access their Vulnerable Child mode, often for the first time. The neurobiology research explains why this works.
Lynda has 40+ years of clinical experience, directs the Schema Therapy Centre NSW, and has been integrating dream work into her practice for over 25 years. She's held multiple ISST leadership roles and published "Schema Therapy and Dreams: Accessing the Vulnerable Child."

Registration closes tonight at 11:59 PM Eastern. Last chance.
Leonardo Wainer is presenting on core emotional needs and values in Schema Therapy, and this changes how you think about transformation.
Most schema therapists address unmet childhood needs. Leonardo shows how values are actually the developmental extension of those needs, and how working with both takes clients beyond symptom reduction into building lives that actually matter to them.
When clients reconnect with deeply unmet needs or neglected values, the emotional activation is intense. Leonardo demonstrates how to guide them through it so therapeutic change aligns with what they truly need and strive for.

Registration closes tonight at 11:59 PM Eastern. Last chance.
Joan Farrell and Paul Kasyanik are delivering the keynote comparing Jeffrey Young's evidence-based Schema Therapy model with emerging models being introduced to the field. If you practice Schema Therapy, this session tells you what actually has research support.
Joan and Paul will review the randomized controlled trials that established the Young model, explain why simplicity and accessibility matter clinically, and examine recent attempts to revise the model in terms of their evidence base and clinical utility. The core question is important: which version of Schema Therapy are you practicing, and does it have empirical support?
Joan co-developed Group Schema Therapy, was co-PI for the landmark five-country RCT with 495 BPD patients, and wrote four widely-used books on ST. Paul directed Schema Therapy Institute St. Petersburg for decades, served as ISST Science & Research Coordinator, and chaired the Training and Certification Advisory Board.
Your ticket includes 90-day replay access, 19 CE credits, 10 languages, and 1-year JYSTA membership.

Registration closes tonight at 11:59 PM Eastern. This is your last chance. If you work with complex trauma clients who can't access their Vulnerable Child mode or who sabotage the reparenting relationship no matter what you do, this session will change your practice.Dr. Robin Margolin and Robin Spiro show you how to work with the two obstacles that derail schema therapy for complex trauma: clients who judge, blame, or reject their own vulnerability, and developmental histories so marked by Emotional Deprivation, Mistrust/Abuse, and Subjugation that they can't trust you no matter how safe you make it.You'll learn specific interventions for strengthening the Healthy Adult when schemas keep undermining it, how to establish limited reparenting with clients whose histories taught them that trust gets you hurt, and how to adapt this work for group therapy where shame, dissociation, and survival modes show up differently.Dr. Margolin wrote the book on this. Literally. Her new book Group Therapy for Complex Trauma just came out, and she's been developing schema-informed approaches to trauma and dissociation for decades. Robin Spiro has 25 years specializing in complex trauma and dissociative disorders. They know what works when nothing else does.Your ticket includes 90-day replay access, 19 CE credits, simultaneous translation in 10 languages, and a 1-year JYSTA membership.Symposium runs December 4-5 with Jeffrey Young, Wendy Behary, Joan Farrell, and master clinicians at the forefront of schema therapy.Tonight at 11:59 PM is the cutoff. Registration closes tonight at 11:59 PM Eastern. Last chance.
Joan Farrell and Sara Trace are presenting on Schema Therapy versus Internal Family Systems, and if you've been curious about IFS or how it compares to Schema Therapy, this session provides the clarity you need.
Both models work with "parts of self" but that's where the similarity ends. Schema Therapy has a robust theoretical model and solid evidence from randomized controlled trials with mental health patients. IFS, despite widespread popularity, lacks evidence for its efficacy with mental health conditions.
Joan and Sara demonstrate how each model conceptualizes internal dynamics, specific strategies for complex cases like BPD and eating disorders, and mode interventions that create meaningful change. You'll understand what works and what the evidence actually supports.
Joan co-developed Group Schema Therapy and led major RCTs establishing ST as evidence-based treatment for BPD. Sara trained in both IFS and ST and specializes in eating disorders.
Your ticket includes 90-day replay access, 19 CE credits, 10 languages, and 1-year JYSTA membership.

Registration closes tonight at 11:59 PM Eastern. Last chance to register. If you're a couples therapist who's watched clients master every intervention you taught them and still blow up over bittermelons in the produce section, this session is for you.Travis Atkinson breaks down why roughly one-third of couples don't respond to EFT, Gottman, or IBCT. It's not that these models don't work. It's that schema-driven couples need developmental repair, not attachment repair. When Punitive Parent modes are running the show, softening techniques won't land. Repair attempts bounce off. These aren't partners protecting against abandonment. They're annihilating vulnerability itself.Travis shows you how to identify which couples need schema therapy (Stage 1 assessment), deploy interventions that create actual corrective emotional experiences instead of just managing patterns (Stage 2), and solidify change that survives real-world stress when schemas try to reactivate (Stage 3).This is the work that reaches the couples other models can't touch. Travis co-developed Schema Therapy for Couples with Jeffrey Young and has been training therapists internationally for 25 years. He knows what works.Your ticket includes 90-day replay access, 19 CE credits, simultaneous translation in 10 languages, and a 1-year JYSTA membership.Symposium runs December 4-5 with Jeffrey Young, Wendy Behary, Joan Farrell, and master clinicians advancing the field.Tonight at 11:59 PM is the cutoff. Registration closes tonight at 11:59 PM Eastern. Last chance.
Dr. Rita Younan and Professor Gery Karantzas are delivering the keynote on Schema Therapy research, and this is the session that tells you what's actually evidence-based.
They analyzed over 300 published studies to show where empirical evidence supports ST, where critical research gaps exist, and what conceptual challenges remain. You'll learn which aspects of the model have solid support and which areas still need development, including debates about the optimal number of needs and schemas, which assessment measures work best, and what we know (or don't know) about mechanisms of change.
Understanding the state of research helps you practice with confidence and recognize where the field is still evolving.
Rita founded Schema Therapy Institute Australia and served as ISST Training Coordinator. Gery is one of Australia's leading relationship scientists with 150+ publications, over $6 million in research funding, and extensive work in attachment theory.
Your ticket includes 90-day replay access, 19 CE credits, 10 languages, and 1-year JYSTA membership.
