Goooooood Morning Folks!

I wanted to hop on and share a doula update 😉

I am SO excited to lead our first Breastfeeding workshop this morning with Better Birth Jackson. They have completely covered the cost of this workshop and it feels so good to help remove financial barriers for others 💪🏻

Karina and I have had a busy busy year, lots of babies so far, but we STILL HAVE AVAILABILITY! We will be offering ✨FREE BIRTH PHOTOGRAPHY✨to moms who are due September-November 2025 that sign in AUGUST! So if you are wondering when the right time to sign is, it’s now ☺️🫶

❤️A C-Section Package ❤️

Karina has been spending a lot of additional time cultivating a unique doula package that supports moms who are planning a c-section from the beginning. Included will be c-section advocacy and education, attending the birth, c-section specific breastfeeding consultation and DOUBLE the postpartum hours. 😱

C-section moms need doulas too, but so often their needs are overlooked, we are excited for this opportunity moving forward.

We also have a special announcement that we will reveal in a few months, so stay tuned 👀

Ahhh what a bittersweet day!🥺

I closed out a dearly loved client today who has had such a smooth experience. Every time I came over I got to know her older little one more and more. At first, I was called “people” and slowly became more and more known. In between questions about breast-feeding and postpartum recovery, she would bring me baby dolls and mama’s baby carrier so I could wrap her baby up too. We talked and she babbled. She brought books and we drew pictures. I will miss those sweet moments with this family. ❤️

In Michigan, doulas are recognized as a
‼️MEDICALLY NECESSARY‼️ service under the state's Medicaid program, reflecting a growing commitment to improving maternal and infant health outcomes.

Why? Here's the evidence:
- 52.9% reduction in the likelihood of cesarean sections
- A 57.5% decrease in the odds of postpartum depression or anxiety
- A fourfold decrease in the likelihood of low birth weight infants.
- A twofold reduction in birth complications for both mothers and babies.
- A significant increase in breastfeeding initiation rates

DOULA CARE IS NOT A LUXURY and it can make all the difference in YOUR birth and YOUR recovery

As taboo as it is to talk about, death can be a big part of our job…

Over the last five years I’ve walked through several miscarriages with women and it has become somewhat of a passion of mine personally. Women deserve support. They deserve to mourn a baby, however early their child was lost. They deserve to be remembered, to be reminded that their baby was a miracle even if they were never met earthside.🤍

Women beside you are walking into offices the day after a D&C, making dinner for their families, moving on as if nothing happened. Does this remove the pain? Of course not, it merely compartmentalizes it so it affects no one else.

As a doula I see this experience happen and see it as a small way I can make the world a better place. To ensure someone isn’t alone. To listen. To talk. To hold. To remember.

While it’s not commonly known, we do offer miscarriage doula packages fo this very reason, which includes:

•Housework
•Education
•Emotional Support
•Help with Cooking
•Accompanying to a D&C and assistance with after care
•Miscarriage Care Kits

This is completely covered by Medicaid and we are able to provide access to miscarriage care kits for FREE.

At a recent birth, I introduced the OB/GYN to a new pushing technique that shocked her with how effective it was, the mama had no tearing, any guesses on what it was 👀🤔
