Got dull knives hiding in your kitchen drawer?
Bring them to The Goods Co-op & Shop, located inside Omega at 512 N. Main St., and let us bring them back to life.

We’re offering knife sharpening on-site, so you can shop, browse, or grab a coffee local while your blades get the care they deserve. Kitchen knives, work knives, scissors, garden tools and everyday favorites welcome.

Sharp tools make better food, safer prep, safer usage and a whole lot less frustration.
Stop by, drop them off, and leave sharper than you arrived.

Happy New Year Friends!

Hello friends!

I swear every New Year is filled with "Man I can't believe the year already is over. There’s a lot happening behind the scenes at The GOODS, and we wanted to send a simple, clear update as we start off our New Year!

We’re No Longer Mobile
Just a reminder the trailer is officially parked. You can now find us inside Omega at 512 N. Main St, Monday–Friday, 9–5, while we continue transforming our future home at 704 N. Main. Our stand inside Omega is small but pretty stocked with home, health, and self-care items, refills, in-house products, and locally made goods.

Renovations Are Underway at 704 N. Main

The Hillcrest Florist building is getting a new life, but it needs a lot of love. We’re tackling this renovation step by step and building it together as a community co-op space. This shop will become a refill station, local goods marketplace, workshop space, and community hub.

Fundraising is in motion and we are looking to our community to help us get the space up and going. Until larger funding is attained Johnny and I are in there weekly working on- all the smaller things we can accomplish. Like fixing facade, cleaning up and fixing the windows, painting, buidling out the space.

The larger items on the list is plumbing, electrical and now (a recent find) a leaky roof.

Throughout the year, we’ll be rolling out some:
• Limited-run and Special merch drops- Tshirts, tote bags, magnets, buttons etc
• Workshop fundraisers
• Sponsorship opportunities
• A community donation drive

Every dollar goes directly into materials, equipment, and build-out costs for 704 N. Main. If you’ve been wanting to help us push this over the finish line, this the time.

It’s a HUGE ask but if anyone knows a community member that may be willing to help at cost - gives them a shout!

If you’d like to become a supporter or sponsor, just reply to this email and we’ll send the sponsor packet or visit https://www.gimmiethegoods.com/help-us-grow

The GOODS exists because the community wants it, supports it, and believes in it. Thank you for showing up in big and small ways. The future home is coming together, and you’re helping build it.

A Monthly Pantry Stock-Up Program
We’re also excited to introduce Prepped GOODs, a new monthly pantry stock-up program designed to make staying prepared simpler and accessible and affordable.

Think curated bulk staples, seasonal rotations, and learning with a community that enjoys staying stocked and prepared. At the meetup, we’ll walk through how it works, gather community input as we pilot the program and have signups for our first month's theme- rice and base grains.

Everyone Is Welcome

You don’t need to be a member to attend the open house, and curiosity is always encouraged. Membership is available for those who want a deeper role in shaping decisions, offerings, and the future of The GOODS.

We can’t wait to see you, share what’s growing, and build what comes next together.

New here?

The GOODS: Co-Op & Shop is a small-town refill shop, creative hub, and community space focused on good food, useful skills, and taking care of each other.

Right now, you can find us inside OMEGA, where we operate our bulk goods refillery. This is where you’ll find pantry staples, baking basics, home, healthy food items, and simple self-care goods, along with raw ingredients for folks who like to make their own.

We’re currently in a season of also building our new home. While renovations are underway at 704 N Main Street, we’re hosting gatherings, workshops, and community events in a pop-up format around town.

Our goal is to create connection and education around good food. To make space for learning, sharing knowledge, and building confidence through everyday skills, without requiring expertise or perfection.

Whether you’re local, just passing through off I-77, or exploring the Blue Ridge Parkway, you’re welcome here. You don’t have to buy anything or know anyone to show up.

We’re glad you found us, and we’re glad you’re part of what’s growing.
