No one warns you that in your 40s & 50s…

* You can lose 3–8% of muscle per decade
* Collagen drops 1% every year (and up to 30% in the first years after menopause 😳)
* And nearly half of women experience lower libido. That's a freaking unnecessary tragedy!

It’s not “just aging.”
It’s hormonal shifts.

Lower estrogen + testosterone can mean:
• Harder to build and keep muscle
• Thinner, less elastic skin
• Slower recovery
• Reduced desire

But here’s the truth most women don’t hear:

You are not powerless.

Strategic nutrition can help offset — and in many cases improve — these shifts.

Start rotating:

🥩 High-quality protein (25–35g per meal) → muscle + collagen support
🐟 Fatty fish → reduces inflammation + improves blood flow
🥑 Healthy fats → supports hormone production
🦪 Zinc-rich foods → libido + skin repair
🫐 Vitamin C-rich foods → essential for collagen production

Together they support:
💪 Lean muscle retention
🔥 Healthy libido
✨ Stronger, firmer skin

And if you want personalized support?

I work 1:1 with women in midlife to slow — and often REVERSE — these statistics through personalized, precision based gut restoration, targeted nutrition, strength building strategies, daily, simple face exercises/tools to reverse the droop/wrinkles, and hormone-supportive lifestyle shifts.

Midlife isn’t a decline.
It’s a rebuild.

🔥 Let’s talk about libido in midlife.

If you’re in perimenopause or menopause and your desire has quietly packed its bags… you are NOT broken. And you are definitely not alone.

But here’s what most women are told:

“Just take this pill.”
“Use this cream.”
“Have a glass of wine and relax.”
"It's just a part of aging."

Libido is not just about hormones.

From a functional medicine + TCM perspective, desire is deeply connected to:

✨ Stress resilience
✨ Nervous system balance
✨ Blood flow and circulation
✨ Thyroid and adrenal health
✨ Emotional connection and mental load
✨ Sleep quality
✨ Gut health

In Chinese Medicine, libido reflects the vitality of your Kidney energy.
In functional medicine, it reflects the health of your entire ecosystem.

Desire doesn’t disappear randomly. It shifts when the body feels depleted, overwhelmed, inflamed, or out of balance.

The good news? When we address the root causes, libido often returns as a byproduct of feeling energized, supported, and hormonally aligned.

Midlife isn’t the end of desire. It’s an invitation to rebalance.

Tell me in the comments —
Have you noticed changes in your libido during perimenopause or menopause? 💛

Word of the Week: AWAKEN

Wake up your glutes.
Wake up your metabolism.
Wake up your intuition.

Midlife is an awakening — not a decline.

We’re stepping into a new month and the edge of a new season. Spring reminds us that dormancy is temporary. Nothing in nature stays stuck — it responds to the light.

Your body is doing the same.

(Peri)menopause isn’t shutting you down. It’s recalibrating you.
It’s asking you to awaken.

Awaken your muscles — muscle is metabolic power.
Awaken your metabolism — protein, strength, stable blood sugar.
Awaken your gut — because your gut and hormones are deeply connected.
Awaken your nervous system — with rest, minerals, and boundaries.

This isn’t about extremes.
It’s about intentional activation.

And if you’re ready to understand what’s really happening beneath your symptoms, I’m hosting a FREE interactive Gut Workshop: Thriving Through (Peri)Menopause — Unlocking the Gut-Hormone Connection on March 28th at 7pm EDT.

You can register through the Events tab inside the community.

Is estrogen really the villain?

For years, midlife women have been told:
“Your estrogen is too high.”
“You have estrogen dominance.”
“You need to lower it.”

Correct Answer: B

Estrogen isn’t inherently the problem — issues often arise from how estrogen is metabolized and cleared through the liver, gut (estrobolome), and detox pathways.

But here’s what most people aren’t talking about 👇

Estrogen isn’t the enemy.

The real issue often lies in how your body metabolizes and clears estrogen — not just how much you have.

If your liver detox pathways are sluggish…
If your gut microbiome (your estrobolome) isn’t balanced…
If stress is overwhelming your system…

Estrogen can recirculate in less favorable forms and contribute to symptoms like:
▪️ Breast tenderness
▪️ Bloating
▪️ Heavy periods
▪️ Mood swings
▪️ Stubborn weight gain

🚫 Simply suppressing estrogen without improving clearance can backfire long-term.

Your body doesn’t necessarily need less estrogen.
It needs better support for detox, metabolism, and elimination.

This is exactly the work I do with women 1:1. 💛

Testimonial story: My 43yo client was told she was "estrogen dominant" and was given DIM by her OB/GYN to help correct it ~ she had a HORRIBLE response!

After getting comprehensive testing done with me, it was determined that she was in fact estrogen DEFICIENT! (and her detox pathways were clogged). No wonder the DIM was poorly received! Now, she is in a good place and her me**es is smooth sailing!

I help midlife women create personalized strategies to improve detox pathways, support liver function, optimize gut health, and enhance estrogen metabolism — so their bodies can process hormones the way they were designed to.

Because hormone balance isn’t about fighting your body.
It’s about supporting it intelligently and individually.

If you’re ready to stop blaming estrogen and start addressing the root, send me a message or drop a 🌿 below.

🔥 Midlife women are not meant to “give up” on their libido — and we absolutely do not have to accept disconnection as our new normal!!! 🔥

I'm going to die on this hill, dammit!!!!

If you’re in midlife and noticing changes in desire, arousal, or comfort — please hear this:

✨ It’s not “just aging.” (ugh, I really LOATHE this line...)
✨ It’s not in your head!
✨ And it doesn't have to be/feel permanent!

Research shows that postmenopausal women with metabolic imbalances — especially elevated triglycerides and high blood pressure — are more likely to experience changes in s*xual function.

WHAT??? Why?

Because s*xual response is DEEPLY connected to:
• Blood flow
• Hormonal balance
• Nervous system regulation
• Metabolic health

Here’s the hopeful part…

These are areas we can totally support naturally!!! 💛

If you are not willing to resign to this new "normal," I got you!!!

In my work with midlife women using functional medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), and strength training, we focus on addressing
root causes — not masking symptoms.

Here’s what that can look like:

🌱 Balancing blood sugar to stabilize hormones and reduce inflammation (personalized nutrition plan)
🥑 Lowering triglycerides naturally through targeted nutrition and metabolic support (precision testing)
🏋🏽♀️ Building muscle — because muscle is one of your most powerful metabolic organs
🧘🏽♀️ Supporting the nervous system to improve arousal and connection
🌸 Improving circulation through movement, acupuncture principles, and stress regulation

From a TCM perspective, midlife shifts often reflect changes in Kidney and Liver energy — which influence vitality, blood flow, and s*xual health. When we nourish and restore balance, women often feel more energized, more connected, and more themselves again.

And here’s something I want every woman to know:

🔥 Muscle is medicine in midlife.
🔥 Circulation can improve.
🔥 Metabolic health can be rebuilt.
🔥 Pleasure is not supposed to disappear.

Your body is intelligent. It responds to the right inputs.

Midlife isn’t a decline — it’s a recalibration. I mean we FINALLY get to experience pleasure without the fear of pregnancy! That's a kind of freedom!

When we support metabolism, blood flow, and resilience naturally, intimacy often improves as a beautiful side effect.

There is hope!
There are solutions!
And you deserve to feel vibrant in every area of your life. 🌿💕

Midlife is not the end of vitality — it’s a call to rebuild it. And if you need guidance, reach out and schedule a chat with me.

Most women get this quiz question wrong—and it’s creating more hormone chaos than necessary.

If you saw the quiz and guessed anything other than B, you’re not alone.
Most women do.

👉 The correct answer is B:
Insulin resistance can interfere with how estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone work—regardless of body size. Blood sugar swings can suppress libido and worsen perimenopause symptoms, even in thin women.

This is where things go off track for so many women.

They believe metabolic issues only affect people who are overweight.
They assume fasting more or eating less will “fix” hormones.
They blame age instead of physiology.

And unintentionally, they create more challenges:
• lower libido
• worse mood swings
• increased fatigue
• cycles that feel completely unpredictable

S*x hormones don’t work without metabolic health.
And perimenopause exposes that truth fast.

This is exactly why I work with women 1:1.
I don’t hand you a generic plan or tell you to push harder.

I help you:

* Learn what your body is actually responding to
* Stabilize blood sugar in a way that supports hormones
* Understand when fasting helps—and when it hurts
*Personalized gut healing to help "right" your hormones

"Reright" the ship with education, training, and personalized guidance
You’re not broken.

You’re just missing the right information—and a strategy that fits YOU.

And yes, this can be addressed.

I have several levels of programs that work within YOUR budget and they all get to the root cause level for helping you heal to reclaim your libido, energy, and mood balance!

Sleeping well during perimenopause or menopause can feel like trying to tame a wild animal—night sweats, racing thoughts, 3 a.m. wake‑ups… it’s a lot.

But quality sleep is one of the most powerful foundations for balancing mood, energy, and overall well‑being.

And the great news? There are root‑cause solutions that reach FAR beyond hormones and don’t rely on quick fixes. Simple, free habits can calm your nervous system and support more restful nights.

Here are a few to start with:
• 𝗥𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗺𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Limit screens and caffeine later in the day—they nudge your stress hormones up.
• 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗱‑d𝗼𝘄𝗻: A predictable routine tells your body it’s safe to drift into sleep.
• 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: A short walk helps regulate stress and supports deeper rest.
• 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱‑b𝗼𝗱𝘆 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴: Try 5 slow breaths with your hand on your chest to quiet nighttime tension.
• 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁: Helps reset your internal clock so sleep comes easier at night.

And if you’re wanting support beyond tips, I work 1:1 with women to address the deeper roots behind sleep struggles—helping restore mental sharpness, body confidence, creative energy, and s*xual vitality so you can feel like yourself again.

You deserve rest. Your body is not broken—it just needs the right support.

(Quiz answer: B. Avoid caffeine and screen time before bed. In case you were wondering..lol)

If you’ve noticed your libido changing during perimenopause or menopause, you are so not alone.

Hormone shifts, stress, and sheer life overload can dial desire down—but the story doesn’t end there.

Low libido can influence how you feel in your body, your mood, and your relationships.

And here’s the encouraging part: there are root‑cause solutions that reach beyond hormones—physical, emotional, and lifestyle factors that can be supported, nurtured, and restored so you can reconnect with your s*xual aliveness.

Simple, free practices that support overall s*xual wellness:
• Prioritize rest: Even one extra hour of sleep can lift mood, energy, and desire.
• Daily movement: A regular walk increases circulation and boosts body confidence.
• Stress release moments: A 2‑minute breathing break helps calm your nervous system.
• Emotional check‑ins: Asking “What do I need today?” reconnects you to your body’s cues.
• Connection rituals: Small, pressure‑free moments of affection can rebuild intimacy.

And if you’re wanting deeper support, I work 1:1 with women to help address root causes of:
• vaginal dryness
• body image and physique changes
• mental sharpness
• creativity and self‑expression
• s*x drive and overall s*xual vitality

You can feel alive, connected, and confident again. Your Second Spring can be full of amazing intimacy and creativity and drive for life!

Many women don’t realize that symptoms like irregular periods, anxiety, and mood swings can be connected to low progesterone — especially as it naturally starts to decline in midlife.

But a dip in progesterone doesn’t mean your body is shutting down or that you have to “push through” feeling off. Your body is incredibly adaptable.

With root‑cause healing, nervous‑system support, and sustainable habits, you can bring things back into balance, even if that balance is the new post menopause balance!

This is exactly what I help clients do in my 1:1 coaching — and soon in my new 6‑month subscription program designed to guide you through this transition with clarity and confidence.

Your hormones may shift, but your wellbeing is absolutely not over. Let’s support your body so it can support you.

(BTW, the answer is D. All of the Above)

Here are three simple, actionable tips women can start using today:

Stabilize blood sugar at every meal
Pair protein, healthy fats, and fiber together. This steadies cortisol, which directly supports healthier progesterone levels and reduces anxiety and mood swings.

Create a nightly wind‑down ritual
Even 10–15 minutes of intentional calm — light stretching, deep breathing, or reading — helps lower stress hormones so your body can actually make progesterone.

Prioritize magnesium
Whether through foods like leafy greens, nuts, and cacao or through a gentle magnesium glycinate supplement (if approved by your provider), magnesium supports nervous‑system regulation and can ease irritability, sleep issues, and hormonal tension.

These small shifts can bring surprisingly big relief — and they’re a great starting point while you work on deeper root‑cause healing.

Here is a magnesium source I trust and use.
