Corinne Pamela Coleman Smith would have been 148 years old today, February 16th, 2026. Born in Pimlico, London, when she was 31 Pamela was commissioned by Arthur Waite to illustrate an entire 78 page Tarot deck to be published by Rider & Co. Pixie’s name was left off the deck and she was paid a small fee. Fortunately over time her notability has been recognized and she is now deservedly credited for her incredible work. I personnaly don’t feel we would have the same relationship with tarot as we do today without Mx. Smith's artwork on this deck. A recent article in the New York Times, “Overlooked No More: Pamela Colman Smith, Artist Behind a Famous Tarot Deck” has encapsulated her quintessense as far as we know her. I’ve added a couple of quotes from the article to the attached images. My favorite is about her still being thought of as radical today. I completely agree and I hope you’ll take the opportunity to look at the article whose time has finally come.

After taking some intentional time away for myself and making you know, some major life decisions, I’m feeling grounded, aligned, and more grateful than ever. Stepping back gave me some absolutely needed clarity.
