Today, we pause to honor the life and legacy of our founder, Sam Clark — a man whose compassion, humor, and servant’s heart shaped not only our funeral home, but the entire Paulding County community.
Born and raised in Dallas, Georgia, Sam dedicated his life to helping others. From serving his country in the United States Army, to operating Clark Ambulance Service for 30 years, to serving as Paulding County Coroner, his life was defined by service. But in 1997, when he opened Clark Funeral Home & Chapel, he truly found his calling.
Sam believed that caring for families during their hardest moments was more than a profession — it was a ministry of love, kindness, and compassion. He never met a stranger, and his unique sense of humor could bring comfort and laughter even in times of sorrow. Many children who visited our funeral home remember the lollipops he always kept nearby and the warm smile that came with them.
Hardly a day passed that someone didn’t stop by to thank him for helping save a life, comforting a family, or simply being there when they needed him most. His impact reaches far beyond these walls and will continue for generations to come.
Though Sam passed unexpectedly on May 21, 2023, his spirit remains deeply woven into everything we do at Clark Funeral Home & Chapel. We are forever grateful for his vision, leadership, and unwavering love for this community.
Please continue to keep the Clark family in your thoughts and prayers as we remember a remarkable man whose legacy of service will never be forgotten. ❤️
