Learning to validate your emotions while regulating your responses is a powerful form of self-respect.

It’s not about being “calm all the time.”
It’s about feeling deeply… and then choosing wisely.

With practice, you create space between what you feel and what you do… and in that space? That’s where the growth happens.

Engaging in this work requires self-awareness, emotional regulation, and a willingness to listen without defensiveness.

When a child feels safe enough to express, “this is how I feel”
and is met with validation rather than dismissal,
a new pattern is created.

These moments shape not only the child’s emotional safety, but also their ability to form healthy relationships later in life.

Mother’s Day can be many things all at once...

For some, it’s a beautiful celebration.
For others, it’s a reminder of:

🤍the mother they miss
🤍the child they hoped for
🤍the version of motherhood they imagined
🤍strained relationships
🤍infertility, loss, postpartum struggles, or the invisible weight of caregiving

If today feels complicated, you are not alone.

Rest when you can.
Lower the expectations.
Let “good enough” be enough today.

Holding space for everyone who finds Mother’s Day to be tender, messy, painful, beautiful, or all of the above.🤍

Many veterans continue to struggle with PTSD and depression despite standard treatments.

This has led to growing interest in newer approaches, including psychedelic therapies.

These treatments work by helping the brain process trauma and emotion more effectively, often with faster results.

While many options are still in clinical trials, some medically supervised treatments that work on similar brain systems are already safe and legal in Canada.

For veterans who qualify, these treatments may be covered through Veterans Affairs Canada, making access more realistic than many people realize.

Maternal Mental Health Awareness Week 🤍

Behind every pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey is a story we don’t always see. Maternal mental health is important and emotional struggles are more common than many realize. No mother should feel alone.

This week is a reminder to listen without judgment, to support without conditions, and to speak openly about the realities of motherhood. Checking in, offering help, and simply being present can make a meaningful difference.

If you’re struggling, reaching out is not a sign of weakness.

Let’s work to reduce the stigma and build a community where every mother feels safe to ask for help.

Supporting children’s physiology and mental health is not just about habits — it’s about equipping them with tools to thrive physically, emotionally, and cognitively.
When we teach children to breathe, move, rest, eat well, and connect, we give them the foundation for lifelong well-being.

We’re all guilty of this- myself included! 🙋🏻‍♀️

Constant busyness may feel productive, but it often keeps us disconnected from ourselves.
True balance comes when we allow moments to pause, reflect, and feel.

In those pauses, we gain clarity and reconnect with our inner experiences. Growth and understanding begin not in motion, but in presence.

True support for children today goes beyond limiting screen time. It means giving their bodies and brains the space to reset, recover, and self-regulate.

When we support their physiological needs — through movement, unstructured play and intentional breaks from digital stimulation —
we are not only protecting their health, but also building the foundation for focus, emotional stability, and resilience.

Supporting this is not optional; it is essential.

Not every struggle can or should be addressed through therapy alone.

Therapy can be incredibly helpful, for both children and parents. But for many children with ADHD, the most meaningful progress happens when their daily environment shifts.

When parents better understand ADHD and adjust how they respond, children feel safer, calmer, and more capable.

Sometimes, the most powerful changes don’t happen in a therapy room … they happen in the moments of everyday life. And when therapy and home support come together,
that’s where real, lasting progress begins.
