On This Day in History 🪖

40+ years ago, the U.S. launched Operation Urgent Fury in Grenada. The military intervention came after a coup and concerns over American medical students' safety on the island. The brief campaign lasted just a few days and resulted in the restoration of democratic government. It remains one of the shortest U.S. military operations of the Cold War era.

Accelerated Wellness Program

The Accelerated Wellness Program (AWP) is an intensive five-day program model that provides Combat Veterans and their significant others with evidence-based alternative therapies not traditionally offered through the VA. The Accelerated Wellness Program is centered around fostering key concepts such as post-traumatic growth and camaraderie. During the program, participants will receive daily sessions of Accelerated Resolution Therapy and Integrative Restoration. Both are evidence-based modalities that effectively help our Warriors overcome personal challenges related to post-traumatic stress and transitional anxiety. Other services provided throughout the week include gentle yoga, equine therapy, music group, and various other camaraderie building activities.

All of these services are offered at no cost to our Warriors. Veterans Alternative provides all food and lodging accommodations and transportation throughout the week. For those Warriors who wish to attend but live out of state, flight sponsorships may be available.
