Todd's Journey

Todd's Journey This page is created to keep you updated on my cancer journey.

A journey that started last April has given me some good news almost a year later. A tumor that was larger then a tennis ball has been reduced to scar tissue with no traces of cancer. As I sat with my surgeon today, he said this was short of a miracle, when he first saw the size of the tumor and the location, he thought I would need surgery and have a bag for the rest of my life. I am now on a no surgery/surveillance program, in short I will be looked at every 3 months for the next 2 years, then every 6 months for 3 years. So thank you all for your support.

I met with the Drs today, and the news couldn't have been better. After aggressive rounds of chemo and radiation, the tumor has been shrunk and turned into scar tissue. Meaning I will not need surgery and I will be placed on an observation program of CT scans and MRIs every 2-3 months for the next 5 years. Thank you all for you prayers and support.

Chemo and radiation are done. I will go back in about a month to have an MRI and see if it worked. Then in February for another colonoscopy so the surgeon can get a better look. If it has been reduced to scar tissue. It will be mission accomplished and no surgery needed. It will be an every 3 month MRI to see that it has not comeback. Thank you all for your prayers and support.

Well radiation and chemo pills have started, 25 rounds total, I have 10 done and 15 to go, My last one is slated for the 17th of December. A few side effects, but nothing, I can't handle. Then after that we will see where this journey takes us.

The radiation rounds started today, along with chemo pills (6 per ay). 25 rounds in all Monday - Friday. Every morning 8:00 am in Mason City. This is going to be along month. My final round is 2 days after the Christmas Show. I was hoping to be done before the show. So I'm hooping there will be no or minimal side effects. But, the show will go on. Thanks for all your support.

I want to thank everyone who attended the event. It was a good day and we raised over $700 to help people going thru Cancer treatment. That put us over $24,000 so far year to date.

What an exciting birthday. 4 hours in the ER, I developed swelling in my ankles and legs, after ultrasound and more tests. They say I developed an infection and will now be on antibiotics for the next 10 days. Happy birthday to me!
